I feel like this series has just been a rollercoaster ride. I didn’t really care for the first book that much and was wondering what all the fuss was about. I decided to keep going and give the second book a try. I’m glad I did because I loved the second book. The second book was fantastic and still my favorite of the series, so far. The third book was solid too. Now…this book was good about half way through. The first 300 pages, I was struggling a bit. I was getting a little bored with the plot and felt like the development of the characters was also slow. Now, this book is huge. It’s a lot and most of the book is just set up and I think that is why I kept getting lost. It’s basically, the reason that I docked it a star.

I was getting quite annoyed with Chaol actually. I hated the way he was portrayed in this book. He just felt like a completely different character than the first three books. I get that some people have miscommunication and that happens but this was just too much. Then he flips his switch towards the end.. umm nope. It was just not believable. I really loved his character in the first two books and just hated it this book.

The romantic love interests were driving me a bit mad in this book too. Like really? We are onto the third guy?! THAT being said, I prefer Rowan over Dorian and Chaol. He’s the much better option, in my opinion.

I LOVE Lysandra in this book! She really is one of the best characters that developed in this one. I love her banter with Aelin and all the characters really. She becomes a major player and I’m excited to see her in the next book.

I found that I was very interested in Manon and her storyline this book. We actually spend a great deal there. Maas, has all these supporting characters all over the place that are just making big impacts on this storyline. I feel like that might have something to do with how this book felt a bit slow in the first half. She was just slowly doing all the setup, in all these different places, for most of the book. I guess, it was fine because in the end, it was completely worth it. What happens is so awesome and not just with Aelin!

It is so hard to write a review on this book and get my thoughts straight. Really, all that I need to say, is that it’s a good book but not the best in the series. There are some issues and lots of slow development but the last half of the book makes up for it. I really can’t wait for the next book and see where we go from here.

I could not wait to start this book and find out what was in store for Aelin and our group. I really became busy and was not able to write a review right away, which sucks. I'll be honest, things have become a bit fuzzy, since I've read a few other books between then and now.

This is by far, the best book of the series, in my opinion. It's still a monster of a book, especially for YA. The difference for the size, is that the plot is so much better. There is instant action and it doesn't stop, until the end. I did not feel the page numbers at all. I actually tore through this and didn't get bored at all. I LOVED how everything just started coming together in this book. We are finally getting somewhere!

I already love all the characters in this book but I really got to know them in this book. We get to know them all much better. One of the characters that I really loved in this book was Manon. We finally, FINALLY, get to see her away from the "pack." I was really hoping that she would cross Aelin and her gang and I got it. Manon's character is 100 times much more interesting in this book. I really can't wait to see what happens next. I think her and Aelin are just great together. I love the banter.

I really did like Elide and Lorcan's story but I felt that it was too predictable. So, it felt a little flat for me. I can't wait to see what becomes of Elide though. I feel like she's going to be pretty important later. There's some corny romance at times in this book. It is a YA, so I can look past it.

My favorite thing about this book was Aelin. Honestly, she's just so awesome. Things just kept going so horribly for them and I kept waiting and waiting for her to do something awesome. She actually does things that are unpredictable and selfless. Just when you think she's going to use her cunning brute force, she doesn't and it's refreshing. The end of this book will leave you so hungry for the next one. I cannot wait for the final book to come out. I can't wait to see how this all goes down!

This book has so much more sub plots, twists, turns and depth than the previous books. Sorry, this is so random. I don't think I'll be as busy now...hopefully. :)

This is the second book in this series. I plowed right through it. I just loved it. I just love the way different people spin fairy tales and this series is probably going to be one of my favorites. Scarlet is about "little red riding hood" in a way. It's not exactly the story itself but it's pieces of the fairy tale that have been imbedded in this story. It also ties in with the first book as a continuation but mostly about Scarlet. There's definitely a lot more characters now and I love them all. It's such a strange concept with the cyborgs and all that but it's definitely interesting. It's like a futuristic fairy tale. I'm interested to see where she goes with the next book, which I believe is Rapunzel.

I have been waiting for this book for what feels like years! I LOVE what A.G. Howard does with this spin on Alice in Wonderland. The details and creatures that come to life in this whole series are pretty amazing.

This is the last book in the series. I usually get nervous for the last book of any series because it's either a hit or miss. It can dampen the whole series. I am so glad this book did not disappoint. It was really amazing. I love the way that Alyssa went a bit mad and did what she had to do to for everyone but herself. Her love is just so powerful and amazing to see. There is a love triangle in this series and I usually have a clear front runner of who I want her to end up with. Throughout the first two books I was pulling for Morpheus. This last book had me completely torn on who I wanted her to end up with. I really was worried on how it would end. I'm actually pretty happy with the end results. Thinking about it makes it seem completely perfect for the series.

The writing in this book is fantastic! I love how fast paced it is and how I get sucked in this world. I picked up the book and decided to read for an hour and ended up reading for 3 hours and didn't even realize it. A.G. Howard does tremendous job bringing her world to life. She's bringing in all these different characters and is able to give details in a few words, that have you picturing them clearly. The story is just hauntingly beautiful. I might have used that before. There are some creepy insects and creatures that she describes but makes it sound beautiful.

The character growth is great in this book. Alyssa, Jeb and Morpheus are just completely different and changed from book one to book three. They grow up and become more powerful, self-sacrificing, and have so much more depth. I am really amazed by Morpheus. He really had the most growth throughout the series.

I'm really happy with this ending and I LOVE this series. I'm so glad that I picked up the first book. The covers to all of these books are just as beautiful as the writing inside. So in this one instance, I'm glad that I judged a book by it's cover. ;) I would highly recommend this series!

4.5 stars...I kept seeing this book pop up on my home page, so I decided to give it a shot. I was unsure about it being another Alice in Wonderland type book. I am not a fan of the actual movie, so I wasn't sure how this was going to go.
I was pleasantly surprised. First, I loved the cover. I know not to judge a book by its cover, but I couldn't help it! I also liked the purple font color, it was a nice change. This book was a lot darker than the actual story. I usually don't like books like that but I couldn't stop reading. The scenes in Wonderland are so twisted but the detail is so amazing. It blows my mind at how much imagination it took Howard to come with all these details. I could literally picture everything in my mind so clearly. I think that's one of the things I loved most about this book.
Right now, my favorite character is Morpheus. He is really dark and mysterious. He kept throwing me a curveball because one minute he was so trustworthy and the next minute he was making me angry! He definitely helps make this story come together. I'm not sure what's going to happen with him and Alyssa but right now, I'm just as confused as she is.
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read [b:Unhinged|17449197|Unhinged (Splintered, #2)|A.G. Howard|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1366994000s/17449197.jpg|24333509]! The cover is beautiful and hopefully the inside is just the same!

4.5 stars I liked this book more than the first. Mostly, because there is such character development with not only the main characters, but all of the characters! I was so impressed with the details and the way Howard can make a scene come alive with her writing. She can describe everything with such detail that you can picture it clearly in your head, without it becoming boring. Again, I found myself so caught up in the story that it was so hard to find a stopping point each time. There are so many twists and turns that you just have to know what is going to happen next.

There is so much more history of Alyssa and her family that comes to light. It makes you understand everything that happens in the first book much more clearly. Especially, the real reason her mom wanted nothing to do with Wonderland and kept her distance.

Morpheus. What can I say? His character is so complex and mysterious. He manipulates everyone and everything for his own selfish reasons. Once you realize what the reason is though, you completely understand. No matter what he does, he always finds a way to combat the bad thing he has just done or said. It makes it really hard to not like him.

The Cliff Hanger was pretty awesome. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book after that. I don't think she could have done it any better!

WOW. WOW. Once my head gets around it, I will write a review. This book is amazing.

I LOVED this book! I have had it for a while. I would like to thank the publisher & Netgalley for reaching out to me and providing me a copy of this book. It has in NO WAY influenced my thoughts or opinions.

I decided to take this on vacation to break my reading slump. I read this whole book on the drive home. To be fair, we had to drive 10 hours. I love all his other books, besides Britt-Marie was here. I could not finish that one. Anyways, this is pretty different for his normal type of book. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing at all. I'm going to try and write this without ANY spoilers.
I'm not a huge hockey fan. I went to my first game last year and I had fun. Not a big fan though. So, when I started reading and realized this book was about a town and their obsession with hockey, I was skeptical. I completely changed my mind about a chapter or two in. This book is so much more. I love that Backman did so many POV's in this book. You can see how different characters feel and why they make the choices they do. It's quite lovely.

This town is small and it's diminishing. They feel that their last hope to keep it alive is to make sure their hockey team goes all the way. It will bring the town back "on the board" so to speak. No pressure on these kids, right?! Wrong. Everything is hanging on this one game and they are not shy about letting the kids know how important it is. They will do anything to win. They let these boys get away with anything, so they can win. Morals and Rules go out the window because there's no way they can be punished. The pressure starts to get to some and they don't handle it well. Then one night, one decision changes everyhting. You have these dominoes that start to fall and they hit every person in the town.

This book does start off a bit slow but I'm used to his style. Trust me, keep at it because it will be absolutely worth it. This book tackles some very deep issues and it will make you feel a lot of emotions. Joy, sadness, anger and make you question everything, even humanity as a whole. It may seem like fiction but this book is very real.

I love this book just as much as, A Man Called Ove. I recommend that one to everyone and I will with this one too. This book moves you and makes you think. I loved it and I'm sure this review is awful because I'm still mind-blown. I'm definitely a huge Backman fan and can't wait for the next book!

It took me a while to get into this book. I mean it took me about the 225 page mark to really get into it. Once I got into it, I could not put it down. The story was just way too interesting. I'm glad that it kept me going past my 100 page test. :)

The reason I docked it a star was because of the overload of information. There were times that my eyes were just glazing over. Too much. One of the biggest problems is that her flashbacks came with no warning. Something would be happening and then all the sudden the next thought is the past and it would be confusing. I'm not against having a lot of background information on characters but I would have preferred it right away. As in, when she's introducing them, she could have easily done this. Having it happen during big moments in the plot was jarring and really stopped the flow of the story. For me anyways, I'm probably in the minority with this.

What I did like were the actual characters. There are a lot of main characters in this book-6. It might be what made it feel like too much information at times. I loved them all though. They are all complicated and have checkered pasts but grow so much by the end of this book. They really are fantastic.

I really can't wait to get my hands on the second book.

Okay, I don't read reviews before I read books. I like to make my own conclusions about books. Don't get me wrong, I do glance at the star count.

Anyways, I don't like to get spoiled, even by accident. I didn't really know what this was about but saw that it was the book featured on Reese Witherspoon's book club.

I picked up this morning and could not put it down. I got through it rather quickly because I was just so into the story.

This book reads as one big, long love letter. As soon as, I got through the first chapter, I knew that this was going to be sad. There is a lot of foreshadowing.

If you are the type of person that believes that there is only ONE person for you in the whole entire world, to be your "One and Only," you won't like this. IF you are the type of person that doesn't believe that, you would like this. I think there's many people who you could love and be happy with. Maybe it's different choices you make that lead you to different people. Regardless, I feel like there could be many people out there for you, not just one. This book goes to show, you can love more than one person in your lifetime.

This about two people and how they fell in love and how choices they make change their life. When you can't let go of your first love. When you constantly wonder what if's. All these choices they make that drastically change their course to and apart from each other. It makes you wonder about all the roads you choose and if it's fate or just your choice.

"Love does that. It makes you feel infinite and invincible, like the whole world is open to you, anything is achievable." - I loved this quote.

She does a great job of grabbing you and immersing you into the story. She shines a light on how you never really forget your first love.
