I really enjoyed this lush fantasy world. I also really loved the political aspects of this novel. I also was super impressed with the complex characters we met and the discussion on beauty that was had throughout this novel. I really was liked the cast of characters but wish the sisters were featured in the novel a tad more. I also felt like the plot towards the end was a tad rushed and a tad confusing. I really did enjoy it but wish it was fleshed out a tad more. I really did enjoy how the villain was crafted and am excited for book 2!

I really did enjoy this read I loved the various aspects of this read including the competition and also the adventure that took place in the second half of the novel. I really was captured by the plot. I also really liked the Mulan inspired elements throughout the novel. I also really enjoyed the tailor competition and found it to be super compelling and the overall plot really captured me. I will admit the romance did grow on me throughout the novel. I wish the the secondary characters were featured a tad more and wish more characters were focused on throughout the novel. I really am excited for book 2!

I really did enjoy this read. I found it to be a perfect starting fantasy series, especially for readers coming over from middle grade. I thought some of structure issues could have been a little bit clearer like when some event happen at the start of the series. I also really did like the focus of friendships in this novel. I thought the book had a compelling plot and characters, but points of this book had massive information dumps that sometimes took me out of the story but I really did like the plot and the characters and would read more by this author in the future.

I really did enjoy the sequel book to this series. I really was enjoyed both the smaller mystery but also the larger mystery focused on Kaylene dad. I really did like all the friendship. dynamics that were developed. I will i am a sucker for blast from the past romance and I am likening the unlikely ship of A.J and Keylene. I thought the smaller mystery was super well crafted and hard to predict. I found the read to be super fast pace read. As the for the lead character she is def a antihero but she is growing on me and I really am excited to read more books in this series. I also would say if you like series like 13 reasons why and Veronica mars, this might be a good series to check out!

The world building is so complexed and such a fun engaging world. I loved the new groups of characters we focused on in this read. I also really liked how political this book got as well. The mystery elements that this book had really did keep me reading. I had some issues with the main character at the start of the book but she did grow on me throughout the read. This was a super charing read and def a fast read.

This was by far my favorite read of this series. I really enjoyed how this book focused on a small amount off characters and they all really grew on me.
