I LOVE GALEN AND PIPER!

Piper originally was a character where when I thought of him I could only picture the quack doctor from Apothecary Diaries lmao. But anyways, he’s so beloved now. I loved so much about this book. I literally read it in three days which is insane for me. But anyway.

I also love how much we learned about gnoles in this book!! Very very good.

I’m never a huge fan of the ‘and then they got married epilogues’, but this slight can be forgiven. Because the actual ending was insane and I NEED to know what Piper felt.

I started this book for the plot more than the characters and then ended up sobbing crying throwing up over Shane and Wren.

I don’t think this is my favorite couple of the bunch but I still love them. Wren and Shane’s relationship was everything! I love how little sister she is to all of the other paladins and how fiercely protective Shane is.

I NEED Shane to be allowed a child. He would be a great dad and I’m going to cry thinking about this now. Thanks. Now time to wait for the next book in my corner! :-)

The pacing in the second half got funky, but I really appreciate this story. The importance of addressing the wrongness of Denji’s situation is vital to make the story fully compelling. At the end of the day this series is about the abuse of power and how people are used and groomed into these positions.

I really enjoy that we’re getting more Angel content too. He’s an odd character, but I’m enjoying him when we get scenes with him. Looking forward to continuing the series

I loved this book so much!! I definitely liked it more than the first as murder mysteries aren’t my favorite genre.

Istvhan and Clara are my new everything. I wasn’t expecting to love him as much as I now do and Clara was so endearing. I truly love her and I felt like her character was more than realistic and fit the setting exceptionally well.

It isn’t often where books make me laugh out loud, but this one accomplished it so many times. Doc Mason really took me out. My only wish is that we got an epilogue at the end because I’m a SUCKER for a cute epilogue. Still an incredible story though🥰 I’m on a streak with this series and it has caused me to fully abandon all other reads… oops

I don’t think I would have read this without a library card, but I’m so glad I did!

This was well written and while I don’t love mysteries, the characters and world were more than interesting enough to keep my interest. I’m looking forward to the future books in this series. :-)

This is a shame because the first 2 parts were SO strong. But then it hard nose dived. The pacing just became unbelievable and the plot points felt jarring to say the least… Not in a ‘nice plot twist’ way but in a ‘predictable but also mischaracterization’ sort of way. Any promises made to the reader felt a little rushed… Also. LITTLE FLOWER? I’d throw up if my brother called me that… not to expose myself as a LaDs player BUT it gave me the same ick as “pipsqueak” iykyk.

other things that bothered me spoiler edition:
why’d they get married…? Bro I can’t with that. Not when they’re 18 and 19 and barely know each other. It just made their relationship feel rushed? idk. Also Forest’s reappearance felt RUSHED to high hell and how Iris responded felt like going back on any character growth? Not to mention he was INSANE and soooo out of character from what we’d been told to expect. It just didn’t work for me, but I can see what Ross was trying to do…

Idk… I probably won’t continue this one. It was so strong but the ending… I couldn’t care less and it was just so unbelievable.

I fell in love with this book from the first page, and honestly the first line. This is beautifully written and captures a sapphic relationship realistically in gorgeous, heartbreaking prose. I went into this 90% blind and honestly would recommend the same for others.

This isn’t a book for those who need an action forward plot. This is about characters, relationships and love. Truly a book I’ll be rereading.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

V.E. Schwab

DID NOT FINISH: 28%

I really REALLY tried with this one because I wanted to like it but… Addie as a main character was so bland. She had little to no true conflict because it’s near impossible to have conflict when no one remembers you. The hook of this book takes forever to happen and it was unbearably slow.

I think this book, while the lines are beautiful, suffers from poor pacing, ill thought out characters, and a lack of clear conflict. Overall it wasn’t engaging and that scene where
Addie sells her virginity felt so out of place and didn’t add anything to the story while upholding a weird value of virginity itself.

I loved the premise of the story, I just wish the ball started rolling sooner and we had some clear action going on.

I LOVED Foster but this… it just didn’t hit the way I wanted it to.

I think that the subjects were interesting, but I would have preferred the story told in a longer form.

The commentary on turning a blind eye was good though and timely. Can you call yourself a good person while turning a blind eye to the suffering and abuse of others? Can you live with yourself knowing you could do more?
