And never once did the butterflies stop. Never once did the thrill of each kiss subside, the anticipation, the nerves, the full swoop of my whole heart when he laughed. Every touch, every caress, every breath.
Well, that was heckin’ cute as hell. I had to consciously try to *not* smile while listening in the grocery store earlier. I’m sure I looked like a crazy person. This was just a lovely, low angst story about to strangers making a connection and then going on cute dates and just generally being adorable together. It’s fairly short, but didn’t really need to be longer. It was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so.
All of the flowers and the meaning behind them was equal parts interesting, sweet and romantic.
It’s not a very complex or emotional book, but it is exactly what it was supposed to be. A feel-good love story. Glen Lloyd did a great job with the audio, as per usual.

“Green carnations mean homosexuality and black roses mean you’re dead to me. So black roses surrounded by green carnations would mean you’re dead to me, you big old homosexual, and I think that’s beautiful.” He sighed. “Poetry with flowers.”
“And now I’m ready,” he said quietly. Then his eyes met mine. “Because now there’s you.”
“So your villain era is going well.” I snorted. “Well, it was short-lived. I’m in my middle-aged-lesbian, home-renovation era now.”
I twirled the paper flower between my thumb and forefinger, smiling at it. “Cory, I think I’ve met the man I’m going to marry.”
I’m the overthinking type, Linden. So when you say stuff like that, I have seven tabs open in my brain working at the same time, running possible outcomes and scenarios.” His smile was slow to spread. “Just seven tabs?” “Two are someone working an FBI whiteboard of scenarios, one’s a Venn diagram, two are spreadsheets, one’s running a video reel of Love Actually, and the last one is breathing into a paper bag.”

“Just hold me gently.” “I can do that.” “And never let me go.” “I can do that too.” Devan kissed him.
These characters are so special to me, and I don’t think I could ever get tired of Jonty and Devan. I don’t know if I’m just very tired or what, but this novella made me cry a lot. Jonty just wanted Devan’s family to love him. He wanted it so badly, and they treated him like crap. My heart couldn’t deal. Thankfully the book ended on a more positive note with a touch of forgiveness and understanding. Not from me, as I’m rather unforgiving, but from Devan and Jonty.
I’m not at all interested in seeing Griff redeem himself, and mostly he didn’t. But, if like me, you wished for more information on the entire situation with Devan and Griff after reading The Making of Jonty Bloom, then you should certainly read this one.
Again, Barbara Elsborg is amazing, and the stuff she comes up with is unreal. Mega clever writer.

After they’d moved the gifts out of sight, Devan caught hold of him and pulled him close. “Don’t you dare say you’re sorry or ask if I’m all right,” Jonty mumbled into Devan’s chest. “I’m sorry. Are you all right?” Jonty kicked his shin.
“What’s in that big box you’ve bought for my father?” “That’s seven times you’ve asked me and my answer is the same. You’ll have to wait and see.” Devan whined. “Don’t worry. He’ll love it and your mum will definitely love the Pornhub subscription.” “I really wished I was sure you were joking.”
Jonty had felt it was like standing outside in the rain, watching a party to which he hadn’t been invited. This time he had been invited and yet, there was still that feeling of not being wanted. Only from Devan’s mum but she was the one who Jonty had needed to be happy to see him.

I love him. I love him so much it hurts. How am I going to survive a lifetime of loving him but never truly having him?
Turns out I really like reading about brothers kissing on the mouth. Who knew.
I was excited to read about Keenan and Ellis after I read For nEver Mine, as they both featured a fair bit in that one. Ellis was such a bratty little shit, and I wanted to read more. That thankfully continued in their own book, but we also got to see more of why he ‘brats out’. I think these books are really quite special. Sure, they’re very taboo and very spicy, but it is way more than just smutty taboo. There’s so much love and intimacy. There is plenty of romance and depth to the characters. Their feelings, fears and actions make a lot of sense in the context of the world they live in.
This one definitely upped the taboo factor from the last one, and I really enjoyed it. It’s overall very low angst as well, all things considered. I want to go back and see what other good stuff Odessa has done that I can read. It was also super easy to buy direct from her website, which is always nice.
Highly recommend.
“Neither of you could be bothered to call?” I open my mouth but can’t find the words to explain. No way in hell am I telling our mother we didn’t call because we were too busy banging. I’d rather be skinned alive and roasted over a roaring fire.

I can’t sleep. My muscles hurt. Even my joints ache. Somewhere inside of me I’m bleeding out. Wounded in a place I can’t see. Only feel.
Ellis isn’t just my brother; he hasn’t been for a long time. He’s my whole world. The moon in my sky. The air in my lungs. Since the moment he joined our family, I have existed for him.
He wants me to tell him what a good omega he is, how perfect I think he is, and call him my needy slut in the same breath.

He wasn’t praising me for what I did, he was praising me for who I was.
I often try to be nice when it comes to narrators, because our preferences are so individual. Unfortunately this one didn’t work for me and it detracted from the story a little bit.
The story itself was adorable. Uncomplicated and cute, with a funny meet-cute and a bit of luck on a kinky dating site. One thing I really enjoyed with this one was how even though the MCs met in real life first and flirted a little bit, they both stopped doing so after they made a connection with each other online, even though they didn’t know it was the same person. I liked that a lot. Would definitely recommend you read the ebook (lol) if you want a cute daddy book.
Quick side note: I also found out that I don’t like the endearment ‘boy’ if it’s not preceeded by something. Sweet, little, beautiful, pretty, my. Just *something*. Calling someone ‘boy’ gives me objectifying and patronizing vibes for days.

I’m not going to hate on this book (too much) because I already knew I would struggle with it. Lark is a great author and I generally enjoy her stories a lot. Unfortunately I don’t like Bailey and Harlow as a couple, and struggled to sympathize with Bailey in general. That’s just my personal preferences (and issues) at play, though. I can relate to a lot of Bailey’s hang-ups and issues, which made it more emotional in some ways than I expected. However, I didn’t agree with how he dealt with said problems and how he treated Harlow because of it.
You might be wondering why I even read this book when I already knew I wouldn’t *love* it, and it’s basically just because I wanted to know the rest of the characters. I wanted to see the guys meet Ferry (I loved Patience), and I wanted to figure out why everyone hates Blaise so much, lol. Both series have a massive cast, so I wanted to get caught up.
Harlow wasn’t as much of a sassy spitfire and murderous twink as I expected him to be after book 1, but he was still a fun character. I ended up liking him more than I expected to.
I really enjoyed Joel Leslie and Dan Calley’s work on the audiobook. The accents were awesome!

“Are we okay?” I ask tentatively. “I just bloody hate it when you’re upset with me.” He frowns and searches my face. “Maybe one day you should ask yourself why that is.”
This was a delightful little novella with lots of feels. It’s about two (very) oblivious young men who have been in love with each other for ages. Super cute and a good read if you need a little break in your regular reading schedule.
The change from oblivious to tongue-wrestling happened a touch too suddenly for me, and I had to swipe back and see if I accidentally skipped a page, but I hadn’t. After the great tension building up to it, it felt a little out of place.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks, moving closer to me. “My mother,” I say wryly. […] “How is Hitler’s Handmaiden, anyway?”
I really enjoy Lily Morton’s writing, and this novella was a bit toned down compared to the other books I’ve read, which I liked.

I stare at him, and a pang hits me in my stomach. It’s always this way. For a while when he’s single, it’s like he’s mine again. His attention, which is like the warmth of the sun when it’s focused on you, is all mine, as are his smiles and easy laughter. Then it’s gone again, focused on another man. I’ve always thought that somewhere there’s an hourglass trickling sand and time away while he’s still mine, and that one day soon the sand will run out and he’ll meet the one. When that happens, his attention will break away from me as surely as if I’m a buoy and he’s cut the rope, leaving me behind, floating in dark water.

I love the way a big guy can make me feel warm and safe. Let’s just say I’m a size queen in every way imaginable […]”
This book was cute and different from other paranormal/monster romance books I’ve read. It was perfectly enjoyable, but I also don’t have tons to say about it. It was a bit boring to me, I think. I wasn’t very invested. All the parts were there, I’m just not sure it went anywhere? Might be 100% me though, as I’ve been feeling slumpy lately.
I try to be understanding, especially with new releases, but there were some dire mistakes, editing-wise, which impacted my enjoyment as well. Don’t let that stop from reading it though, as I expect that will be cleaned up eventually.

I mentally updated my newly discovered kink to barely leashed violence tempered with unparalleled gentleness. There should be bruises and cuddles involved. And perhaps hot cocoa afterward.
This book was crazy fun, and just crazy. I’ve had the joy of reading four Zile books by now, and I really enjoy his writing. It flows so well and is just heaps of fun, even when dealing with more serious subjects like in Psync and Quiet. My good friend recommended I read this one, and I’m glad I finally did. If you want something that’s a little bit different, wildly entertaining and short, you should check this one out.

Adam rolled his eyes. “You’re insane. You know that, right?” “Yep!” “My father told me to never put my dick in crazy, Adam,” Vale said unhelpfully. “Your dad was missing out,” Adam responded and earned himself another kiss.
Once we were dressed, I gave him pick me up! arms, and he lifted me back up without argument, settling my butt into the crook of one huge arm.

I didn’t know if it was the heat hormones or if Jesse really was that big, but I felt dwarfed by him and fragile, and desperate to have him spread me wide and fuck me until I went blind. Yep, I definitely had a case of the heat-slutties.
This was a quick and very hot read, with characters that weren’t exactly cute but still likable. They’re a bit defensive and grumpy, but it’s all pretty understandable in the context of their situation. Lots of heat fun, slick, knots and enough orgasms to put a mere mortal in hospital. Oh, and it made me cry. Shocker.
It was exactly what I expected it to be, but not exactly mind-blowing. 3.5 stars rounded up.

“Please don’t ever use the phrase ‘swimming in your juices’ ever again.” He laughed with me. It felt so good, almost as good as the sex. “How about ‘doused with your love potion’?” I laughed harder. “Definitely not.” “Painted with your passion sauce?”

I refused to be the darkness that would eclipse his sunshine.
Alright, first off, bring tissues, because ouch. I cried a lot, lol. SO good, though, and absolutely worth the pain. I fully expected to love the book after meeting Matty and Sebastian in Patience, and I wasn’t disappointed. I was already pretty much in love with Matty, and now I feel like I would die for a fictional character. He is the most precious and adorable man ever. He deserves to get everything he wants out of life, and thankfully Sebastian will give it all to him.
Their story was far from smooth sailing. It was like they had this third entity in their relationship, namely Sebastian’s deep trauma. He’s not the easiest to like, but thankfully the prologue gives us an understanding of all he’s been through and what he struggles with. He’s one of those characters where, even if you wanna shake him when he messes up, you also want to hug him, tell him it’s going to be okay and that he’s worthy of love.
“I think it’s been a long time since anyone has fought for you rather than against you. I’m going to do that, Seb, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
Seeing Matty get all he wanted and Sebastian’s personality shine through (beyond the snark) was beyond nice. They both deserved it, and they really did turn out to be perfect for each other. The epilogue made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Really appreciated that we got to see them happy for a good while to make up for some of the heartache. Very highly recommend this book.

Apparently one kind gesture didn’t make up for centuries of being a cunt. Who knew?
I’d been so scared of Matty falling for me, I hadn’t protected myself. This human held my heart in his hands, and he had no idea.
“You shouldn’t look at it that way. It’s toxic, red flag behaviour.” His teeth sank into his lower lip as he looked up at me from under his lashes. “Did I ever tell you I’m colour blind?”
