This was a great debut novel! The twist was not what I was expecting, and then the surprise at the end was an even bigger surprise. The characters were well developed and the story kept me engaged the entire time. Can’t wait to read more from this author in the future.

As someone from Madison, I really enjoyed reading a story that takes place here. While the bulk was in other locations, you don’t hear about Madison in books often, so that was a nice surprise.
As for the story, this one sucked me in right away! I saw a ton of red flags about what was going on immediately, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out how wrong I was. This book kept me thinking until the very end. Great read!

What did I just listen to?!?
I read this as an audiobook and boy was I in for a surprise. This was definitely a comedic, gothic story that had been laughing out loud over its absurdity.

This book, WOW! I literally couldn’t put it down, I was sucked in immediately. The forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, slow burn of this book was fantastic. And the spice? Fantastic! This is probably my favorite read of the year so far.

I listened to audiobook for this. It was a pretty good story! The typical marriage problems come up between this couple, but since they’re serial killers, it has a slightly different twist. It kept me on my toes and I didn’t anticipate some of the twists. Overall a good listen!

A Talent for Murder was a book I didn’t see coming. While I was able to guess quite a bit where the story was going, it still kept me on my toes with the interesting twists and turns. This was a thrilling read for sure!

Karin Slaughter is a fantastic writer, and generally I really enjoy her stories, but this one wasn’t one of her best. This was a book club pick and I haven’t read other books in the Will Trent series, so part of my lower review is due to that.
Overall, the book went on too long. I felt like it could have been wrapped up about 50 pages sooner. The story also seemed to take forever to get going. Once it finally did though, it unraveled really well!

A cute enemies to lovers story. This book had a famous soccer player, tattoos, an English accent, a cute small town, and an adorable blind goat. Oh, and some spice once things got going. Really cute romance. I’m already looking forward to reading the next one!
