Omg. So glad I stuck it out and read ACOTAR. Because it was worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, from beginning to end.

I really loved reading about the development of Feyre and Rhysand's relationship, their banter was so funny and cute and even had me tearful at times.

The themes of past trauma and healing, family, hope and acceptance were written so well. It was so relatable, despite being so fantastical.

The world building was done in such a succinct way. I was clearly able to picture in my mind how Maas had intended.

I cant sing this novels praises enough. For those who maybe struggled with ACOTAR (the way I did), stick it out. Good things comes to those who wait

This was my first novel by Shantel Tessier, and believe me. It didn't disappoint!!

First of all, I was drawn in from that very first page. It doesn't ease you in, not like a lot of dark romance - Tessier went straight for the sweet spot...and it was oh so good.

I loved the smut (🌶🥵), but I really appreciated the plot full of twists and turns. Things that just came out of nowhere. I couldn't pick my jaw up off the floor, especially as I felt like I really got to know the characters.

I have experienced this epic story twice. Reading and audiobook, and wow what an eargasm that was!

I am officially obsessed with this series and this author!!

This book seemed like pure smut towards the beginning (not complaining) and i felt like I really got to know the characters, though they jad brief appearances in the previous standalone novels, I didn't get the opportunity to properly get to know the , so I appreciate  that opportunity.

Shantel Tessier is (imo) iconic for her plot twists, and I knew something HUGE was coming. And when it arrived...well, it bent me over and had its way. Because I was not expecting it...any of it!!!!!

The story starts off slow, but it does set up the history of the characters really well. I also really liked how this particular novel started to really build on the relationships she characters had from the other interconnected standalones.

Dark and gritty are what springs to mind when I think about this book (very dark, in fact).

I got to the final 47 pages, and all hell was breaking loose. I was so worried. I would be left with questions that would go unanswered. Whilst I do have questions, a lot were answered in those final 47 pages. I think the other questions (like all of the series) are to set up to maintain a relationship with future novels. I'm OK with this. It's ST'S MO.

Now, for those of you who dont know, ST is the queen of the tease
And what the plot twists hit, oh man, do they slap- HARD!!!

A good read.  Different from other ST novels I've read so far. It still has dark elements to it.

I felt like I really got to know wife
The characters and they were so endearing even their dark sides.

Hook Shot

Kennedy Ryan

DID NOT FINISH: 54%

I just could not get into this book. I tried, I really did as I really enjoyed kennedy Ryan's previous books. However, this one was not my cup of tea. I found it boring at best.

I listened to an audiobook and the thing that usually puts me off is the narration. However in this case I enjoyed the narrators. I think that's partly why I persevered as long as I did.

I got over half way and felt loke i should continue but I can't face another 6 and a half hours when I have no investment in the story. I ended up not really listening to it anyways in the end.

There are a couple if things I liked though.

The fact that it is a standalone but part of the interconnected series. I was already familiar with the characters and was pleased to find out this story focused on Lo as she intrigued me in the previous 2 books of the series (however the investment dismissed as I progressed).

I really liked how the themes if Lo's upbringing and experience of voodoo was a thread that continued throughout the story.

Though there were some redeems qualities, it was nit enough for me to continue. I really enjoyed the previous 2 books of the series and am disappointed at the anti climax with thus third and final installment.

Not as dark as other novels by ST. But enjoyable, nonetheless.

I was not a fan on the MMC initially. He was arrogant (not in a good way) and came across as two-dimensional. But ST didn't let me down, and he soon became more loveble once he showed some deeper layers.

The background of the story really is quite say but does have a hopeful ending. This is a wonderful addition to the Dark Kingdom series.

It was an OK read. The writing was good but trope-wise, it wasn't my favourite. From reading the reviews though, I wasn't expecting it to be.

The book had a good pace and the characters om the most part were likeable, that being said the MMC is a bit of an ass and wasn't my fave but I didn't dislike him.

I've discovered that I really enjoy standalone novels that are interconnected and have familiar characters even if they do take a back seat role. For that I give it an extra half a star.

I'm looking forward to the final book in the series and seeing these MC's living their life in the background.

Nice palette cleanser from dark romance novels. Nice pace, some funny parts buy mostly just cute.
Spicy scenes are good.
Loved the story line.

Can't wait for the next book in the twisted series.
