A grotesque (in a good way) piece of art!

8.5 sore necks from gargoyle gazing out of 10.

A truly, truly excellent book, like most of Larson’s books are.

Really captures the chaos and unpredictability of one of the most unique and consequential periods of American History.

10 flaming cannon balls out of 10

I have started my Sanderson journey!!

Book one was fun, a great set up for what I think is going to be a fantastic second book. Great characters, great magic system.

Onto book #2!!

9 vials of pewter out of 10

A fun start! Set up makes you want to keep going.

6.5 strange wolves out of 10

The plot thickens…..

Ended on a gross, but excellent, cliffhanger! Onto the next one!

3/4 of the stories in this collection are absolute bangers. Secret Window, The Longoliers, and The Library Policeman are three of his best novellas. Sun Dog is ok. Overall one of his best collections.

9 pieces of red "licorice" out of 10

Definitely the…grossest…installment , lol. This would make a great movie.

8 pieces of bullet blasted flesh out of 10

Reread for the first time in 15 years. Just as disturbing and horrific as I remember. And I mean that as the highest of compliments. Tops three of King's scariest books.

10 spadefulls of dirt out of 10.

Moving toward the climax. Shaping up to be pretty predictable
