An excellent, important book. Highly recommend!

Without a doubt, the best book I have read this year, indeed, a story that has etched itself onto the geography of my brain like few others.
That it is all true undeniably cleaves my heart, leaving a scar, the permanence of which I do not deny or regret.
It is one thing to understand in an academic sense that men like Willis V. McCall have existed in the past, that they still exist in 2015. It is quite another to be so pulled into these tragic events so engagingly that I felt, as I read on my front porch on several warm July afternoons, that I could glance up from the page and see the tall man in the large stetson standing on my porch steps, hand resting dangerously on his revolver, eying me with a glance that turns my insides to ice.
Gilbert King's excellent prose took me to places few books have.
What shocked me most of all was the fact that, until picking up his book, I had never heard or read much of those unbelievable events.
The events chronicled in this book are difficult to read about. I carry the faces of those young men in my mind everywhere I turn. I cried at points, swore out loud in anger at others. I lost some degree of sleep as I turned the events over and over in my head.
But that's alright...I will be forever grateful to Mr. King for putting me in the middle of it all.
This is a book I will highly recommend to everyone I know.
It is one I am certain I will never forget...

Wizard and Glass is the best book in the Dark Tower saga. Hands down.
It kicks off in high gear with the riddling contest against Blane the Pain. Then we get a tragic and shocking glimpse of Roland’s past, one that is a slow build but has an amazing and horrific conclusion. This book has everything O think of when I think of Roland and his quest for the Dark Tower.
Best of the series. Absolutely.
