I wish I had know of Peter Enns twenty years ago.
His ideas are a soothing fount to a tongue long parched and broken by thirst...even if he IS a Yankees fan.
9 sighs of relief out of 10.

Honest, in your face, touching, funny, illuminating...just an amazing book that reached deep into this fundamentalist damaged heart and struck a spark onto the cold, dead pile of wonder that I thought lay long dormant in the forgotten cavern of my soul.
A book I will recommend to everyone.

The novel begins,
"The moon blew up without warning and for no apparent reason. It was waxing, only one day short of full."
As first lines go, that's a good one.
In over 800 pages of good, hard science fiction, The human race has to deal with the fact that two years from the break up of the moon the earth will become uninhabitable as large pieces of what was once the moon will set fire to the very atmosphere.
A great story, another fantastic read from the pen of Neal Stephenson.
