This book was just fine. I do not know Ms. Pat's work and I think that may be why I'm so meh about the story. It sounds just like every other celebrity who grew up in Atlanta. If you are a fan of hers, I encourage you to read/listen to it. Ms. Pat overcame a lot of adversity.

This book was eerie and so worth it. The words were so thought out and I could see the imagery so well. Almost like a movie playing in my head. I love how Lucinda makes you believe that you know what the ending is going to be and then it’s not that at all. This is my second read from her and I can officially say that I am a fan.

I love Zoe! This was a great read! And so much to touch on!

First, I love that you don’t have to read the first book to know what’s happening. When I received this arc, I did not realize it was the second book in the series but was able to keep up with no issue.

Second, any book that incorporates little Black girls.. I love! I love them even more when they are cooking. I love that Zoe is so passionate about baking! Reminds me of how I first started cooking
