fast-paced

I know this was meant to just be a short little novella, but I really enjoyed the storyline and wish it would have been longer as I was left craving more of Del and Mariah.

What to expect:
- Novella
- Blind photography session
- Morally Grey MC
- Stalker
- CNC (Consensual non-consent)
- Primal Play
- Masks

Down For The Count

S. Marie & Victor Rahl

DID NOT FINISH: 25%

This honestly might be a case of it’s not the book, it’s me.
I see the potential in the story, but I’m just not invested enough nor do I like the characters enough to continue at the moment.

Wow, what a freaking ride. This is my second read by Stacy Willingham (I also read A Flicker in the Dark) and I loved this one even more! I usually find thrillers to be relatively predictable, but for me, this one was anything but. I thought I had it at all figured out time and time again, but nope…I didn’t see the twists coming.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t too sure about Cade in the beginning. He was a very blunt playboy who’s comments rubbed me the wrong way a time or two, but by the end HOLY HANNAH, I loved him, the real him so so freaking much. Cade and Haley’s story was heartbreakingly beautiful, there is no other way to describe it. By the end of their story I was absolutely sobbing in the best way. Highly recommend.

This is the second book in the Lotus MC series and while it can technically be read as a standalone, I would recommend starting from the beginning.

Gahhh, I just knew I was going to love Wrath and Tara’s story. There was so much tension and angst between the two of them. I couldn’t’ help but be sucked in immediately.

I don’t want to give away too much of their story, but they are truly perfect for one another.

I have a love/hate relationship with this book. There was so little honest communication between the couple that I truly don’t understand how they were together for so long in the first place. Terrance was sweet when he wanted to be, but I just couldn’t get myself to love him. He continuously put himself in situations that could easily be misinterpreted. Justice has her traumas and struggles frequently with self-doubt. By the end I didn’t really feel that the deeply rooted issues were actually solved between the couple since they were never really discussed. Other events just happened and all was peachy?

Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me, but if this author releases a story about Miles and/or Emma I will definitely be reading.

Wow. For this to be the author’s debut novel I am very impressed! I thought it was an adorable story in a great setting with relatable main characters and some of the best/cutest side characters.

I related to Ivy so incredibly much. Her need for organization and control, her constant apologizing for things that aren’t her fault and the inability to say no or speak up about things in order to keep the peace. That is totally me, and I was so happy with her character development.

Holland preferred to keep to himself and run the lodge to the best of his ability, but underneath the grumpy exterior he was a total sweetheart. My heart absolutely broke hearing about his past.

If you enjoy a slow burn, rom-com set in a woodsy cabin, with light spice add this book to your TBR immediately.

This was my first read by this author and overall I thought it was super cute and I really enjoyed it. Theo is literally perfection. He was so sweet and caring, he truly did just want to spoil Celeste. My only complaint was the amount of times Celeste complained about getting mauled by other monsters in public. I understood the concern, but I felt like it was mentioned every other page and became a bit excessive.
