4.5. WOW. The beginning was... not as good as I hoped. I hoped that this would be my favorite book in the series, but it felt slow and a little boring. But then it suddenly became interesting and unexpected. There were storylines I hated and storylines I loved, but the ending convinced me that this was indeed the best book in the series. This book has broken my heart many times. I am sad that I finished the series, I started reading them because I was sad the show ended and I wanted new scenes of my favorite characters, but Cassandra Clare has written a whole universe so it's not the last of them I guess.

Also, Jem/Zacharia stealing Church made me laugh way too hard. Maybe that's just because I love Jem.

Wat een raar en verwarrend boek

I did not like this book. The plot and characters were boring. The only reason I finished it was because I read it for school.

Ik was altijd een grote van Carry Slee, maar ik moet zeggen dat dit best tegenviel. Ik vond sommige personages verwarrend, bijvoorbeeld Femke. Ze is steeds boos op Gijs, en vind hem zomaar ineens weer 'een schatje'. Ook waren er zinnen die personages zeiden wat ik jongeren van mijn leeftijd nog nooit horen zeggen, zoals 'onder het genot van een colaatje'. (Maar misschien ga ik gewoon niet met zulke mensen om.)

Alsnog was het wel een interessant boek, en ik had geen moeite met het lezen. De verhaallijnen waren goed geschreven, en leuk om te lezen. Er waren momenten dat ik niet kon wachten tot ik tijd had om verder te lezen.

Vond het in het begin een ingewikkeld boek, maar er zaten wel interessante stukken in. Het is een kort boek, en het las wel snel door.

Wat een saai boek, ik ben na een tijdje maar gestopt met lezen. Ik vond het echt niet interessant.

In the beginning of the book, it was very hard to get into it. It felt kinda slow and I was easily distracted. Around page 100, it started to get interesting, and at the end I couldn't put it away, it felt like the pages flew by. (Sometimes I looked at the page number and I saw surprised that I was already that far.)

At the beginning I was thinking about DNFing this book, but now I'm definitely going to buy the sequel!
