felt like there was a lot of sub-plots happening but  even though there were high stakes there was never enough tension/suspense. I'll read the next one to see where the story goes and if anything that has been laid down ends up paying off.

this was a perfectly average read. Not bad, but also not overly good. I liked Amara and I thought she was feisty and great at times, but it felt like not a lot was happening. I'll probably read the second because I did enjoy the ending and I'm interested to see where it goes, but I can't say I have very high hopes.

what a book !!! for some reason, this book never stood out to me as something I wanted to read, but I read it for a book club and from the first twenty pages I was hooked. This was absolutely fantastic, and I can't believe it's a debut novel.

The world-building was done beautifully with the introduction of The Order and the world of the Round Table, and I especially loved how the Rootcrafters were given so much of a voice too and the privilege of The Order was exposed.
Sometimes the characters got a bit confusing because there were so many minor characters, but the ones we got to spend a decent amount of time with I loved. Shoutouts to Nick, Alice, Greer, Whitty and especially William <3

Absolutely cannot wait to read Bloodmarked.

Went on a bit too long and felt like it was trying to be too clever and complicated. Ending was rushed but still quick and easy to get through.
