Another King novel read this year. I buddy read this with a friend on my bookstagram.

~This book follows many characters in Castle Rock both old and new, such as Sheriff Pangborn and Ace Merrill. The actions of all the characters in town intertwine and create tragedies along the way.
~Mr. Gaunt is new in town, but yet knows what everybody may need in their life. He's willing to sell these needful things and he's sure everyone is willing to buy. For what price though???
~I enjoyed the rants and the craziness of this book, however its another issue with the length. But, I guess it sold me on the absolute absurdity that went on in the town after Mr. Gaunt pulled up. Sometimes, it got a little tedious trying to keep up with the characters and every small act to lead to the big ones. Also, the ending was predictable if you've read a King novel before.

Overall, I enjoyed this read. I loved the insanity that ensued after all the "pranks" happened lol

Now that Hak has divulged his feelings, things are pretty awkward for Yona and the bunch. The tales of Crimson King and his dragon warriors are running rampart and it seems to irk those in Hiyruu Palace, but is praised especially by those in Saika. I guess we will have to see what’s going to happen with the bunch with the invasion they helped stop.

We’re back in Saika in this arc. The Fire Tribe is standing with Yona and the bunch. The advisor of Su-Won isn’t too thrilled about it. And Ogi what’re you about to do?? asdfghjkl I can see next volume being a hot mess of things lol

The Fire Tribe and Sky Tribe are up against the soldiers of the Kai Empire in this volume. Yona and two of the dragons are captured by the old priest from the last arc. Hak is going a little nuts, rightfully so, but he does show some strategies that come from being around Su-Won and all of a sudden the advisor is like maybe we shouldn’t lose him

I started liking this read a lot more after the 50% mark.
~I thought the MC was extremely annoying. She's self-aware of her faults, but it took 75% of the book and something major for her to chill out and maybe think for once. And I completely get that what she grew up with can make her that way, but I would've hoped for more change and growth at some point. I get she has trust issues and issues with herself, but could she have at least been nice to the kids who did nothing to her lol
~I began to like this book once more things were revealed. I would read the next in line to see where it goes and if the MC grows at all in the next installment. I loved the fact that you find out more about the MC's past to a degree and see POV's outside of the MC. It would've been cool to see one through ol' Luci's pov but it did not happen in this book.
~The characters seem very typical of a reverse harem. You have your good and bad twins, the savior, the control freak, the outcast, the a**hole.
~I also thought this book would be way steamier than it was to be honest. Again, that may be in the next installment, now knowing the ending and what fate has brought to the MC and her guardians.

Overall, I enjoyed this enough to finish it and possibly want to see the next installment just to see what happens. I would recommend this to people who enjoy angels, archangels, and Nephilim in their stories, to those who love a reverse harem, some steam included, and a bratty MC.

I loved the premise of this book. You have a destiny that can't be broken and a girl named Talia, who was raised as a simple, farm girl coming into her powers. You have magical beings living amongst mortals. You have elves and fae in this book! It is a fantasy romance and most of the plot revolved around the romance. I think the instant love in this book threw me off because I love a good slow-burn. Um, its also a captive romance as well as enemies to lovers. Which is all good, except I didn't vibe with the instant love. Talia doesn't know Marcellus from atom, but she sees something in him that nobody else sees. There is steam in this book and has to do with the plot line somehow. I think the ending for me also fell flat. I thought more would come after everything that happened. BUT, even with my dislikes from the book I still finished this book in two days and I want to read the next book since it's going to follow Darius?? and I'm going to be honest I love a sneaky fae. <3

If you loved The Human Centipede, you'll love this short story!! You'll definitely get the ick vibes from the imagery that came with this story. I loved how the story was written as somebody was hurriedly writing everything that transpired. I honestly wish that the story was longer, I would have read all of it. I want to know what the other's stories are, what can bring down this monstrosity. I just wanted to read more and sadly it ended, with a bit of hope, maybe???? Also, I love the wlw rep, but in a horror/thriller.

I enjoyed this cozy, small town mystery romance. I loved the beach dwelling vibe of the town and the gossip that ensues in it. I love the fact that Clara has her gift that ended with her being right and her tarot reading mom. I also loved the slow-burn romance between Clara and Lucas. I think if this was pitched to me as a romance with a side of mystery, I would rate it higher. I thought the main character, Clara, would delve into the mystery aspect more throughout the book - but it took until around the 80% mark for that to happen. It was still a cute story though and I would read the next in the series maybe not for the mystery but to see if Lucas and Clara are mentioned in the next book in the series lol.

I’m starting to love the micro stories before the short stories at the beginning. It gives a feel of what’s to come! The House Plant is about George, the fern plant, and Brenda the human. It is from George’s point of view that you see how he came to be with Brenda and her family. I really felt Brenda’s frustration because I don’t naturally have a green thumb but I love plants. I wish I were more in tune with my plants so I can take care of them better

Petrified Women is like an episode of Punk’d that took a wrong turn and ended up becoming a survival horror show. Although I was aggravated with our main character, Harley, (mostly due to frustration over her idiotic actions) I still rooted for her through the whole novella. The mind game of whether or not everything was a joke or something really did happen was a nice psychological twist. This book gave me anxiety at times to be truthful, especially from Harley’s point of view on things. I loved the ending cause Dolores and everybody has Harley’s back now
