3.5/5 stars actual, rounded up. This was overall an enjoyable read, I did a reread of Roar and was eager to see how the journey continued. However, I think Rage struggled to be a satisfying book by itself and not just a sequel connecting books one and three.

The storm magic system remains the thing I liked the most and what keeps me coming back to the world. Watching Roar learn about storm magic and how she can harness it was my favorite part of the book. I also enjoyed getting to know Jinx and Nova! Their scenes were fantastic and I want to learn more about their elemental magics. I liked Cassius, which surprised me somewhat. Yeah, he’s far from perfect but he’s doing his best. (Kinda…) The pacing felt somewhat irregular and I was underwhelmed by the conclusion. It paved the way to the next book, but lacked a meaningful resolution for the current book.

I’ll still be on the lookout for book three, because I need more Jinx & Nova and more information about storm magic!
