To start with I was enjoying this book. It was fast paced and interesting. The concept had me engaged and I was invested.
However, I wound up finding if fairly predictable in many aspects, as well as just getting repetitive, which took my enjoyment down.
I did like all the perspectives we had, which added some layers to the story.
Overall, it was just OK for me.

People Person follows five half siblings who all have a strained/distant relationship with their father, and who haven't ever had much of a relationship with each other.
After something happens to one of them, they band together to deal with the unconventional situation.
I really enjoyed the characters in this book, I thought that each of the siblings were unique and well fleshed out.
The Story was fast paced and interesting, and while the conclusion to the issue they were handling did seem rushed to me. I did enjoy the book overall.

This book was stunning.
Take My Hand follows a young black nurse who fights to protect two young and mistreated black girls from a system that harms them under the false impression of helping.
Based on true events during 1970s America, Dolen Perking-Valdez creates a rich and compelling story, filled with incredible characters that I grew so attached to.
The writing is immersive and addictive, and it sheds light on an area of history which I'd never heard anything about before.
Touching, informative and unflinching in its honesty. I absolutely loved this book and will definitely read more from this author.

I've read and loved previous works by this author, however this one didn't meet my expectations. But I'll start with the positives.
I found the storyline interesting and it kept me engaged. I finished it in two sittings and genuinely enjoyed the listen.
The subject matter was well researched and shed light onto the forgotten women that served in Vietnam, and the struggles that they faced.
The atmosphere was well done, making the book feel immersive. Which is something I've come to expect of Kristin Hannah's writing.
However, where it fell a little flat for me was that it at times felt really predictable. There was too much foreshadowing.
Also, and from this point on there will be some Spoilers, so don't read more if you don't want to have the book spoiled...
I didn't like the romanced plot or I should say plots.
Especially the jump from Jamie to Ry felt really fast, and none of the relationships felt like they had any depth to them. It never felt like she got to know them very much at all, before she was struggling with her feelings for a man she knows she shouldn't fall for.
However, the thing that I disliked the most was the ending.
Overall this was a very fast paced book, with a lot of positives too it. But certain aspects fell flat for me. But I will definitely still pick up books by Kristin Hannah in the future.

I appreciated what the author was expressing throughout this book. It vividly depicts her own struggles with her mental health, and that's such an important topic to discuss.
For me, while parts of the book were great, interesting and engaging. I Also found myself not being drawn to this particular art style, or perhaps I should say some of the art style, as parts were great, while others didn't suit my taste.
I think a lot of people will be able to relate to many of the authors struggles.
Personally for me this was a good read, I just didn't love the art style and found the story a little disjointed at times. But the overall premise was great, with some fantastic humour and a lot of emotions.

This book follows Lily, a 12 year old girl who moves to a sleepy town and stumbles upon a mystery surrounding a girl who went missing. She bands together with her new group of friends to try and solve this mystery.
I thought the premise of this book sounded interesting.
We have a quirky and interesting cast of characters in a very fast paced middle grade mystery.
I had a pretty good time with this one and would definitely consider reading more from this author.
