Once again, Alexa Martin gives us a romance winner! Brynn and Maxwell's journey is so sweet and solid, and they both grow in amazing ways. I'm sad to see this particular Playbook world end, but I'm looking forward to whatever Alexa Martin has up her sleeve!
Really cute, solid romance. I'm both a thespian and a writer, so I definitely enjoyed those aspects of the novel in the characters of Holland and Calvin.
*4.5* Wow, wow, wow. Such an incredible book about justice, sacrifice, and the power of young women taking their own lives and safety into their hands. Amy Reed does a great job of showing so many different types of young women and all the different viewpoints surround sexual assault, feminism, what it is to be a woman, etc. Even though we follow three particular protagonists, we also get to see glimpses of other young women in the town and how they are reacting to and dealing with what is happening. Solid novel!
2019 re-read: Wow, wow, wow. So glad I took the time to re-read this before jumping into Children of Virtue and Vengeance. There's so much packed in here about colorism, state-sanctioned violence against oppressed people, and what it takes and the sacrifices needed to truly start change and revolution. The magic system is clear and the world-building is solid. My favorite character is definitely Amari; she goes through such an intense and riveting growth as a character, and I'm looking forward to seeing her rise in the next installment of this series.

I haven't re-read The Lightning Thief since middle school, and upon re-reading it, I can indeed confirm that it truly is a gem. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series has always been a favorite of mine, and I'm re-reading it this year to see if that statement still stands true. So far, we are off to an AMAZING start with The Lightning Thief. It's funny, touching, fast-paced, and incredibly intriguing. I'm looking forward to seeing Percy mature into the great hero I know he becomes in the end.
This was a great read that definitely kept me guessing the entire time. I didn't see the reveal coming at all, and I will definitely be picking up Riley Sager's other thrillers.

Is anyone else surprised that I loved this (again)? Great second installment in an amazing series, and I'm excited to pick up The Titan's Curse next! Out of the entire series, I mostly remember things from the first two books, so I'm excited to see what amazing things I forgot from Book 3.
