I couldn’t even make it past page 8. The fatphobic nonsense piled in the first 3 pages alone is just...yikes. And then it just gets worse. I was really hoping to enjoy this one since I enjoyed The Sweet Spot, but key things I was apprehensive about showed themselves right at the beginning.

⭐️3.5⭐️ Very interesting concept. I’ll definitely be continuing with the series. My main critique, though, is that the romance(s) and ending felt very rushed. It’s already not a super long fantasy book, so I definitely think more time could’ve been taken to flesh out those two aspects, even with two more books in the series.

As a lover of all things Scooby-Doo and comics, I LOVED THIS. I'm excited to continue on with the series. I really enjoy the adult fantasy, apocalyptic mystery vibes. My only critique is that the banter between Daphne and Velma is pretty repetitive, but I'm excited to see this ragtag group's dynamics change and evolve throughout the series.

Such an amazing book. Exceptional plot, interesting and dynamic characters that you can get invested in, and a kickass, determined protagonist. I'm excited to continue on with this series.
