Everything about this book is perfect, y’all. THE DATING PLAYBOOK by Farrah Rochon sports the always beloved fake dating trope and sets the stage for hilarious steaminess with a dollop of heartfelt realness. So basically, it fed my soul 😩

I found Taylor to be super relatable, as she feels like she’s flailing about life with no clear direction. I felt totally seen in Jamar’s struggle as well and how he had such a hard time grappling wit his body’s new limitation. The idea that you’re “too young” to be limited by a certain body part’s functionality (for Jamar and me both, it’s the knees) and wanting to “get back” to where you were, but having to learn how to adjust to these new circumstances.

I loved Jamar and Taylor’s banter with one another and their inner reactions to the nonsense of life, as well as how present the best friendship aspect of this book is. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to London’s story!

THE DATING PLAYBOOK features Black love, anxiety rep, learning disorder rep, and physical disability rep.
