I was intrigued by the synopsis of this book but the book itself just did not live up to my expectations. There are certain things in the book that I thought I could get past but then I realized I was really not okay with it. This is the second book I've read by her and I want to read more. I'm pretty sure this will be my least favorite of all her works.

I really enjoyed this much more than expected. The pace of the storytelling and character development was very constant. I am looking forward to reading book two.

It's been awhile since I've read a really good romance. It's not usually my go-to genre but I greatly enjoyed this one. This is also my first time reading a novel by Tessa Dare. I loved the Scottish highland setting and I love the portrayal of the main female character. Her anxiety was portrayed so well. And I love the fact that they actually communicate, that is such a problem in modern romances. The fact that the two leads talk to each other and have an actual relationship, while trying not to have a relationship is superb.

Slow start but once it got going, it was very enjoyable.
