This book was the book club bitches January choice. After chapter 1, I was super bored. I did not like the narrator and the content warning say graphic animal cruelty. So book club voted to choose a different book for January. 

Book Two in the Wicked Darlings series did not disappoint! 

I really enjoyed Finn and Clara, revisiting them after their HEA and their adventure was so fun. At first I was put out that Louisa wasn't in this book much, but Alice was such a strong FMC that I quickly forgot to miss Louisa. Alice is a farm girl, stand in mother for her several siblings and has a zest for life. She was so inquisitive and delightful, and her hope to find good in everyone was charming. I thought the dynamics between Alice, the cat and the rabbit were FASCINATING and delicious. 

The Queen was really cool. I thought it was a really interesting spin on a classic tale. Retellings can be hard to pull off but Rebecca F Kenney CRUSHED this! Can't wait for book 3!! 

I thought it was twisty, and the ending was wild but overall I don't think this book really added anything to my life. I didn't need this story and these messy liars lol I think I was more irritated with the secrets than enthralled by them. I found Emma pretty insufferable, her devotion to shitdick Nathan was really pissing me off yet I'm somehow sad her baby won't have a dad. The fact that Emma said she wanted to kiss Gabriel at the end of the book like girl no. Don't. I thought JJ was a classic fuck up and didn't have a ton of dimension to her character and Daphne was the most interesting I wish she had been the mc!!! I think most of my disgust was that their parents were awful and I didn't care that they were murdered. All that to say I'm giving it 4 stars. I did enjoy it. But I just really enjoy KAM's paranormal shit a lot more.

Where to begin? 

Ingrid was a fascinating leading lady and her hard to like personality in the beginning made it very hard for me to get hooked on this story.
Once it took off and the plot "thickened", I couldn't put this book down. I was shocked. I laughed out of horror and amusement. 

Is it an exaggerated display of racism or is it shining light on exactly what's wrong here?!?! I am so glad I finally picked this up. Bravo.
