This book had a lot of twists I was not anticipating, however, I just finished his other book and I was blown away by that one, so I was expecting the same level of WOW.... But it didn't quite hit the mark for me.
I'll be honest (and maybe I'm just slow on understanding the mystery) but for a majority of this book I was confused. I didn't understand who was a threat, who was the "then" narrator, and I just wasn't totally into this story. I thought Corrine was really dramatic and Ashley was just kind of naive. I loved the ending once everything clicked and I figured out why there was a reason to worry. But I felt the beginning and story set up was quite slow.
This has been my favorite Cape Bay Mystery so far. Franny finally got a little sassy and it was fun to read.
