I have read all of Abbi Glines books, and what I love about her is that she is so consistent. She always writes such awesome books and amazing characters. If I'm looking for a "sure thing" great book, I know I can turn to anything Abbi Glines writes. Just a warning though- Because of Low is for a much older YA crowd.
I remember thinking how much I liked Marcus from Breathe. He is so sweet and loyal. I'm really happy he got his own story. He is just a genuine good guy. Willow is pretty awesome too, but I didn't like how hard she was on herself! Obviously she is an attractive girl but she just sees herself as average. Not to mention everything she has on her plate, she is an inspiration. I loved how this book was just as much about her as it was about Marcus. You really see Low coming into her own- the change is so gradual, but as the story goes on you can really watch as Low becomes happier and more confident and secure. It is really a cool journey to watch.
Abbi has such a gift for writing amazing characters. After finishing Because of Low I starting thinking about what it was that I loved most about Abbi's books. Her stories are all riveting, and boy oh boy can she write romance, but I have to say her characters are my favorite! They are so well written and fleshed out, it is hard to find a single character that I have not fallen in love with. If you have not checked out Abbi Glines books yet you are really missing out! She is one of my favorite YA authors!

This is one of those books that I knew I was going to like based on the description. I love superpowers, and when you throw in some mystery and a dash of mythology, I was hooked! The Search for Artemis reminded me of X-men mixed with the Disney movie, Sky High. It is a super fun adventure, and I loved every minute of it.
The story starts out with a bang. Literally. I was feeling so bad for Landon, it was not easy for him in the beginning. But once he gets to "school", it really starts to get good. From then on I could not put the book down. You meet so many people for me the biggest part was trying to figure out who I liked and could trust and who I couldn't trust. It wasn't always so easy, and I was thrown for a few loops. For most of the book it is pretty hard to tell who the "bad" guys are. And honestly, I'm not even 100% sure that I even know yet. Time, and hopefully book 2, will tell.
Landon is a really great main character. He is really powerful, but not overbearing. Likable without being annoying. Overall, I really enjoyed him. He is someone I can really see myself rooting for.
Artemis is elusive at best. I loved the mythological names. I am a mythology nerd, so any reference to it in books is a big plus for me. I really liked that it took a good portion of the book to get some answers. And what I liked even more, is that some things are still left unanswered. It gives me something to look forward to in the next book.
The Search for Artemis is well written, well thought out and a joy to read. This book picks you up and takes you on a journey. P.D. Griffith did such a great job and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next!

This is your classic werewolf v. vampire story with a twist. Well actually, with more than a few twists. The story will keep you on your toes, that's for sure. There were some things that I really liked about this story and some things that kind of bugged me. Let's start off with the things that I liked, because I did end up enjoying this book. :)
Gen is a really cool main character. She is strong, and a little impulsive at times, but she has the best intentions in her heart. And of course, there are two guys that like her. I will say right off the bat that I am 100% team Joseph. William is nice and all, but there is just something about him that does not seem genuine. He always has his guard up. Joseph on the other hand, is totally genuine and you can really tell that he cares about Gen. Plus he is a total nice boy next door, and that seems to be my weakness. I am holding out hope that in the next book, Gen wakes up and gets on board the Joseph train. haha. I think they would be such a cute couple.
Luna was hit or miss for me. Half of the time, she seemed like a really great friend, but man does she have a temper. One thing goes wrong and she is at Gen's throat blaming her and saying that she hates her. That would really annoy me if I were in Gen's shoes. It is almost like she is bi-polar; either super loyal, or really mad at you. But overall, I think that she does care for Gen and wants to be there for her.
Ties to the Blood Moon is a good book. The story is interesting and although it is predictable at parts, there are so many twists and turns that at least one of them should take you by surprise. I did think that it was a little rushed in places and sometimes maybe too much was going on. But overall, the writing was good, the story baseline is interesting and I am intrigued to find out where the series is going to go next.

This is such an interesting concept. I especially loved the mix of supernatural creatures that join in on the adventure with glory. Witches, vampires, angels, and dogs- oh my!
Glory is such an inherently good girl. She really cares about other people. She is so selfless, and it was really inspiring. This journey could not have been easy on her, but she never wavered- she never had a weak moment. That's what I liked the most about her. The love triangle in the story was just so-so for me. I liked both of the guys. That wasn't the problem. I just wanted at least one of them to give some sort of gesture for Glory. I mean she is such an awesome girl, I just wanted them to fight for her. Maybe that will happen in the next book. (Fingers crossed)
Zane and Dominic were both pretty cool, and I don't even know which one I like more. They were both "good guys"! Do you know how refreshing it is for a book to not pit good guy against the bad guy? I loved it! They are both really likable, and I am dying to find out more about Zane and Glory's connection and I'm dying to find out more about Dominic period. I think if I had to pick a side, I would say I'm marginally on team Dominic. But only by a little bit. I can't wait to see what is going to happen with the whole gang in the next book.
Overall, Glory was a really good read. The story is constantly moving and progressing, so as a reader you never get bored. It is really well written and the characters are all likable. I can't wait to read the next book, but I am really curious as to what the conflict in the next book is going to be. It should be interesting to see where Devin takes the books from here.

One of my favorite books as a kid. Review to come.
This book was so awesome! I have not read a Valkyeri book before and this was such a great one to start with. The book just flows along at a great pace. It's never boring, never slow. Dead Radiance is a great adventure that kept me riveted from start to finish.
Bryn is awesome! She is kick butt, kind, and all around awesome! I started out feeling so bad for her. She had no friends and she was bounced from foster home to foster home. It must have been tough on her. I certainly couldn't imagine it. And then there is the glow that she sees around people. I just wanted to hug her! But once she started figuring out who she really was, things started turning around. It was at this point that I became super engrossed in her story. And then there is Aiden.
Boy oh boy did I like Aiden. First of all he is super smart and resourceful. I have a thing for smart guys. Kind of a big thing. And man did Aiden and Bryn have chemistry! Honestly I found myself impatiently waiting for the next encounter between the two of them as I was reading. I wanted to see even more of them. And that ending! It killed me! I thought a little bit more could have been developed in the relationship front for the two of them. But all in all I liked the pace and I loved that it was believable. Too many times, I read a story where people fall victim to insta-love. Not here, and it was so refreshing.
Overall, Dead radiance is an awesome start to a series! I loved it!! One of my favorite books that I have read this year so far. It is well written, and the plot is great! I cannot wait to find out what will happen next! I need to read the next book asap.

I really enjoyed the first book, Caressed by Moonlight, and this book was just as good. I liked Dorian from book 1 and i'm not going to lie- I wanted this book to be about him too. I pouted for a good 10-15 pages when I was first reading about Dimitri. But then I started to get into his story and I started liking him, a lot.
Dimitri is constantly waging an inner battle. I felt so bad for him, he could never just let go and be in the moment. Kerstyn was really good for him. She tried to help him let go. I liked that balance between the two of them. They had a good dynamic and it was really easy for me to root for the two of them. I will say this- Kerstyn sure is trusting. To the point of being a little too trusting. I also didn't really like that this was her very first boyfriend ever. It made it seem like she was holding on at times just because there was no one else, because she hadn't experienced this before. Now, that is not to say that I don't like the two of them as a couple. I do, I think they work really well together, I just almost wish that Kerstyn had a little bit more of a backstory. I'm not even sure why, I just kept thinking that while I was reading.
I loved that Dimitri had a few secrets up his sleeve and as the story went on you could see layer after layer being peeled back. I loved learning his secrets. I especially loved the history on how vampires came about. I thought that was an awesome story!
All in all, this is a really good book. It picks up almost 200 years after the first book left off, and even though I didn't want it to be about a different character at first, I ended up really enjoying Dimitri's story. I became very attached to him and I think I might even like him more than Dorian now. Great series.
