The Fowl Twins is just as much zany fun as the original Artemis Fowl series. I loved the original books when I growing up. I recently re-read them to get ready for the new spinoff series, and I have to say- I had a great time. The books are just as much fun as I remember. The Fowl Twins follows the  adventures of Artemis Fowl’s twin brothers, Myles, and Beckett. Eoin Colfer delights readers with the same signature wit, humor and sass that I have come to expect and love from the Artemis Fowl series. I can't wait to go on more adventures with Myles, and Beckett! I hope the Fowl Twins is just the first book in a long series of adventures.

The Fowl Twins is perfect for readers from upper Middle Grade, Young Adult readers and adult readers! If you love adventure stories with spunk and lots of Humor, The Fowl Twins is a must read series for you. This would be a great book for a family to listen to on Audio book during a long roadtrip!

Crier's War  is a young adult fantasy and is the first book in the Crier's War series by Nina Varela. Before I get into my review, can we take a moment (or 10) to admire the beautiful cover? The cover of Crier's War is one of my favorite covers of 2019! It is simply stunning, and it is even prettier in person! Let me know your favorite covers of 2019 in the comments below! Crier's War is a fast paced fantasy read, and it was an adventure that I really enjoyed. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

In Crier's War, we meet Ayla and Crier. Ayla is a human girl in a world where humans are repressed by Automae. Automae are machines that rose up against past human rulers, and have now become the ruling class. Ayla dreams of avenging her family, who were killed by the Automae. Her plan of vengeance was going to be killing the Automae King's Daughter- Lady Crier. Ayla gets a job as Crier's handmaiden and neither are who the other expected them to be. They story really sets off from there. One of the things I loved most about Crier's War is the great cast of characters that are present throughout the story. They are so richly described and wonderfully diverse. Crier and Ayla captured my attention and they captured my heart while I was reading their story. I really love them both!

Crier's War is the kind of book that once you pick up, it totally consumes you. Leaving you with no choice but to keep reading until there are no more pages left for you to read. I read this book in one sitting, because once I picked it up, there was no turning back for me. I loved this story and I am super anxious to see what is going to happen in the next installment. Nina Varela created a fantastically nuanced world, poised on the edge of war between the humans and the Automae. Crier's War is a multi-perspective narrative, which allows you to get to know the characters and really get into their head. Learn their motivations and thought processes. This is my favorite narration style because I feel like I get to know everyone on a much deeper level. It's nice to know what the characters are doing, but even better to learn about what makes them tick, and the why of their actions. It makes for a very compelling read, and Nina did a fantastic job of keeping each narrative clear. Nothing felt too confusing for me, which is not always an easy task with switching perspectives.

If you are a fan of fast paced fantasies, with court gossip, intrigue, diverse characters, war and plenty of action, then Crier's War is going to be a must read fantasy series for you. This book was everything I hoped it would be and then some. I really loved it. Bring on book 2!

Ahh I love this series so much! So, so much! This book was just as captivating a excellent as the first book. Full review to come!

I listened to an audiobook version of girls of paper and fire and I highly recommend the audiobook version. The reader was excellent.

Just a note: This is a f/f romance, which I didn’t realize before I started reading. And there is rape present as well in case that is a trigger for anyone. But the audiobook does a great job of warning you of that before the story starts

The story was pretty magical. I loved the world and the idea of a birth stone that opens up when someone turns 18 to reveal their fate so to speak. This world is divided into castes, paper are human all the way up to moon caste which aRe demons.

The demon king selects 8 paper girls a yeaR to join his court and serve as his concubines. The story revolves around lei who hates the king and moon caste Bc they stole her mother from their small remote town in a raid several years before the story begins. When Lei is taken as a paper girl because of her “lucky” gold eyes but her real purpose at the palace is to find out what happened to her mother.

This story was exciting and beautifully written. It is easy to get swept up in Natasha’s writing.

Smoke and Key is a young adult paranormal by author Kelsey Sutton. First off, I have to just point out how crazy beautiful the cover is. I was immediately drawn in because of it, but then the mysterious summary really hooked me. I had to know what Smoke and Key was all about. And talk about starting the book off with a bang. The first chapter was completely creepy and spooky and set the stage for a haunting and mysterious story that I simply could not put down. Smoke and Key was fascinating and something wholly different than I was expecting. If you are a fan of gothic style mysteries, I think you will absolutely love this novel. In Smoke and Key we start out with Key finding her way into the Under. The Under is a world where some  individuals find themselves after death. It is named the under because it is literally the ground underneath their graves, and the only way to enter it is to fall into by bottoming out your grave. Totally creepy, right? No one in the under has any memories of their life on earth. Our story starts out with our main character waking up in her grave and falling into the Under. She can't remember her name, but she quickly learns that no one can. Each of her new inhabitants picks their own name from whatever belongings they had with them when they fell out of their graves. Key enters the under with a Key hanging around her neck. Key is determined to get her memories back. I really loved Key right from the start. She was an immediately engaging character for me, and actually so was Smoke. I loved the world of the Under that Kelsey Sutton created. I loved all of the curious characters, and I loved meeting them through Key's eyes and deciding together who we could trust and who we couldn't. Take this fascinating world and couple it with a really creepy mystery, and you have a paranormal read that felt totally fresh and unique to me, which is no easy feat. The mystery was excellent as well. Murders in the under! Who would kill so many people that are already dead? And why? Smoke and Key's twisty plot is sure to keep you turning pages in anticipation for the entire novel. I really applaud Kelsey Sutton on what she has created in Smoke and Key. It is a fascinating world with intriguing characters and a mystery plot that kept me guessing and engaged until the very end. This is a book that I would easily recommend to anyone looking for a creepy paranormal mystery.
