Excellent read
This book has a nice pace. There are lots of twists and turns, most of which I did not see coming. It's pretty scary y'all. Probably shouldn't have finished it right before I fell asleep.

I was hooked from the prologue. Seriously I don’t think I’ve ever read a prologue that grabbed me that hard and quick. I read this book in less than two days because I could not put it down. I was literally upset that I was yawning and falling asleep last night, and I wasn’t finished. This is a very fast paced. I read some reviews that said that it took a while for them to get into it. I did not have that experience. I was captivated from the get-go and maintained throughout the whole book. Some were upset that it didn’t end the way they wanted, and I agree. But not every book can have a complete happy ending right? I definitely recommend this book! This is my second John Marrs book and he’s officially on my top ten list of authors. I will be reading every single book he has.
I took a break from my usual read, which is psychological thrillers. This book really got me and all my feels. I laughed. I smiled. I ugly cried. I think in part because it hit home in a couple of ways. I grew up with an alcoholic father, and some of the scenes were very real. I also cared for my mother as she died of lung cancer. It brought it all back… The good and the bad. This book is beautifully written. I felt like I could easily visualize everything she described. I can’t recommend this book enough. I would give it more than five stars if I could.
I loved this book. It was a little tough for me in the beginning, because I have brain fog and there are a lot of characters to keep up with. However, eventually, I had them all sorted out, and the book had so many twists. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
