The Mystery Shopper and the Hot Tub

Helen E. Field

DID NOT FINISH

I really wanted to enjoy this one as the idea was great and the characters could have been brilliant, I like that women getting back into work after raising a child was a theme but It just didn’t work. I thought Dean was an arse and treated people completely horribly in order to get what he needed. A lot of the dialogue made me cringe.

I really loved the premise of this book, I mean who doesn’t ask ‘what if?’ As I was reading it I felt like this was what I wanted How to Stop Time (another book by Matt Haig) to be but then in fell a little flat, the list of lives lost my interest and the realisation of the impact she had on others lives felt very rushed.

Overall a nice read about the importance of living.
