This is the story of three generations of North women. The time lines move around to slowly reveal the back story of each of the characters.
The women in this book are just incredible, resilient and strong. I fell in love with all of them, they each broke my heart and put back together again and just didn’t want this book to end.
This isn’t the easiest to read in places and I would absolutely recommend checking out the TW on this book before going in.
Thank you @tandemcollectiveuk and @johnmurrays for my copy as part of the #memphisreadalong

This is a new short story from Atwood is the tale of mothers and daughters, of a mother's desire to protect her child against the world and her daughters desire to break free and experience the world for herself. It is told from the present-day perspective of the daughter while she reminisces about her childhood and teenage years.
What a charming quick read that I could happily recommend. I really enjoyed the references to witchcraft and the stories the mother spun to protect her daughter and thought the way that then went full circle to help protect the granddaughter was very clever.
medium-paced
I really liked being back in this world but it felt a little slow, there is a lot of repetition as the author is trying to give us everyone’s perspective
