A cheery read!
This book made me laugh out loud and I really liked the main character despite him being male - an anomaly for me!

Heartwarming is right!
Another Christmassy but not overly faux jolly warming read. One to read if you are a lover of London or an idealistic city life person!

Much more complex than the title would have you believe!
I really rooted for thus main character- I wanted her to stand up for herself, live a little and find her happiness. Her meet-cute is a little predictable, as is the burgeoning intensity of feelings and poor orphaned alpha male, but additonal characters make up for this and add intricacy.

NOT what I expected!
Yes, it has your typical chocolate pot-type romance as indicated by the front cover but that doesn't even start until over half way through! This is a real triumph of a character overcoming the odds and embracing their trauma, although perhaps a little romanticised!

Perspective altering
Didn't expect to have another 5 star read this year but it is definitely that. Have never before truly considered the impact of having the majority of celebrated female speakers give perceptions of being female. Perhaps it is indeed time to redefine power.
