Writing style had me confused 

Oh my!
This book was good and had me hooked from the first to last page! I did not want it to end at all!!
All the characters are so expertly fleshed out with very real strengths and weaknesses, our main characters are awesome and badass not despite their flaws and trauma but because of it!

This is what books like game of thrones and throne of glass wish they where like, with a very diverse cast and gentle lover Sanaa captain of our hearts!

Books like this, that show the many many forms of strength a human can possess always make me feel like such a badass!!

I don't always enjoy books that do present and past time chapters as they are often confusing to me but this was done incredibly well!

The world building is rich and vibrant making you feel like you are also living your cottagecore dreams in a magical Scottish cottage! I thoroughly enjoyed this take on witches and witchcraft as it combines the more real witchcraft of spell crafting and the use of herbs as well as the more fantastic way of incantations and and lighting on fingertips!

Why didn't I read this sooner? I had a lot of fun reading this

I loved this but I did not have enough tissues!

When I read the synopsis this book immediately reminded me of both The Selection and Red Queen and it did! And I really enjoyed it!

This book does feel a little more like an introduction into the real story but the characters are really interesting and there is a lot of the world you will just want to know more about so I am beyond excited to see what the rest of the series will bring!

I'm just not into the daddy thing

This book was outside of my comfort zone as this is definitely not my usual genre but I was so into it!

Some parts felt a little slow to me but the ending more then made up for that in my opinion! 
This was honestly such a great combination of crime thriller and fantasy thriller which is probably a horrible discribtion...
I cannot wait for book two and seeing where the story will take us! 

I wasn't sure if I would be into dark romance at that start, but save to say I absolutely am!

If the TW for this book are ones you're okay with it's definitely worth checking out! This is a quick read for when you want to enjoy some smut without too much plot.

I loved the idea of this book!
The take on werewolves isn't the usual one which is something I absolutely love! And the witchcraft/magic used is also something I adored!
The mystery and story of this book where great but I really struggled with the pacing and for me the flashbacks felt repetitive which made the book feel dragged out while it didn't have to.
I will definitely read book two and hope for better pacing!
