A good resource book (hey homeschoolers!) -- a clever way (it's a trivia "game" but also a story) to discover facts about a particular (won't give it away) state.

A good, engaging look at slavery and leprosy in 17th century Caragena. Sounds depressing, but it's really not. A good, solid, enjoyable bit of historical fiction.

First one I've read. I can see why kids like these. A good mix of fact and fiction.

Good -- not brilliant, but there were some enjoyable moments/stories. I think the going-backwards plot device was a bit much (it could have been just as effectively told forward, I think) and I found it a bit confusing. But I liked the girls, and thought that it was n interesting look at the immigrant experience.

A good look at a girl trying to figure out who she is, especially in the face of being the only girl in they boy's summer baseball league. And the best player out there. She deals with the pressure, with trying to figure out how to balance being a "girl" and doing what she loves. Well-written and enjoyable.

A nice little story. Creative use of the moon's phases, too.

Nice little book about expectations and friendship.

A wonderful balance of realism and magic -- savvies aren't superpowers, but they do make the Beaumonts extraordinary. Loved the characters, loved the plot, loved the book.

A very cute little story about a girl who finds she can talk to animals. Nothing earth-shattering, but it made me smile.

Very sweet -- and kind of sassy -- look at a girl who's trying to come to terms with her parents' divorce.
