I really liked this sequel and I'm excited to continue the series.

I loved that we got more of Shaan and Lennox in this and I love that we get the lovers to enemies to lovers arc for Lira and Sai.

However, other than character development, not much actually occurs. And what does occur seems like super convenient. Like the group just happens to stumble on two pieces of the heart stones in the same place? They got the map and Lira can now conveniently heal people?

I feel like I just needed less of Lennox's inner dialogue and more road blocks to happen. Like the sirens were getting sick because Lira was far away, Margo got arrested, but we never see her again, and Liras mom isn't scheming?

I just needed more from this book. I needed the plot to move a bit faster. I feel like the end of the book should have been the middle. The first book was just so packed with action and heists and complex relationships and hard grey area decisions, and this installment just lacked a lot of that. This book I felt was more for character development and less for the plot.

Anyways, still great and I hope that this makes more sense as the next book comes out and the whole series starts to form.
