Love triangles, queer characters, characters of colour, and even a non-binary casually added to the mix. This book was amazingly inclusive and super relatable. I could see myself in Everly through every page. And the tropes! Grumpy-sunshine, getting caught in the rain... It was delicious. I could also see that this was taking the show "What no to wear with Stacey and Clinton" and crossing it with the Queer Eye reboot of the 2020's. Loved the concept.

Amazingly cute story

Um, so this was amazing. I can't even begin to describe how uncomfy this made me feel. Kuang did an amazing job toeing the line of villain and hero with the FMC that I will be thinking about this book for a long time. A must read.

Ahhhhh! Now that's more like it. I love me a good cliff hanger and, oh boy, did I ever get one. With a title like "Songs of Loss" I kind of knew someone would be dead, but oh man. So much loss.

I also loved the redemption arc of Shaan and Lennox. Love them.

The only thing I feel would have made this better would be a chapter or two from King Carrington's POV or from Eldricks so we as the audience would know what they were thinking and planning but not the other characters. Otherwise, chefs kiss . Beautiful.

Can I give a book 10 stars??? This is what all fantasy books should be. This is the new standard for fantasy. I have no other words.

So I don't really have any feelings towards this book. I kind of found Oraya to be naive and not a great critical thinker. She literally just takes whatever Vincent says as gospel and never questions. The same goes for with Raihn. Also, kinda saw then end coming from a mile away. And like Ibrahim should have had a better arc. Like why was he such a big part of the narrative and we know nothing about him and his arc kinda sucked.

It's a meh from me. Not worth the hype. I will continue to read the series because I'm a sucker.

So, this was quite predictable, however it was true enemies to lovers. So much so that I kinda wished it didn't take 590 pages for them to actually admit that they love each other.

I still have no idea what an asteri is or why only Raihn has one, and I'm still struggling with the magic system.

Not my favorite Carissa book, but still a great story and I want to continue in this world.

This book was hard to get through. And JLA still needs a new editor. Littered with grammar and punctuation errors.
