I enjoyed the resolve of this story the variations between which murder comes across which helped make the book feel more lively! The character seemed at the very least consistent and the plot twist I enjoyed.
That being said there are some chapters or paragraphs I felt didn’t add much to the story. There is a hinted love interest which doesn’t add any traction to the story or have any legs throughout so feels completely unnecessary to the story and could of save a lot of pages. This is the only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars.

A fantastic balance of touching on a delicate topic which is often the taboo of conversations even with a GP. The book brings a sense of comedic relief to a painful condition in a way which is not minimising the condition or coming across as patronising.
I thank the author for writing a novel which creates a safe space in which those who suffer or with love ones who suffer can feel a sense of normality and security.

I really enjoyed this twisted tale, Hercules has my heart as one of my favourite Disney movies and felt this book really captured the characters beautifully.
This story shows us a more well rounded view of Meg and her back story as she tackles Greek trials to earn her place of mount Olympus.
I enjoy the emotional conflict she faces throughout and the nods to true Greek mythology is incredibly well written!
Thoroughly enjoyed!

Whilst the concept of the book is a great idea in theory, I felt that the overall story just fell slightly flat for me. There were some areas that felt over explored to the point it became quite boring and others that felt they could of been far more interesting.
Overall whilst I understand the message of it I found myself finding some of the lives explored quite full and monotonous and trying to rush to the end of the chapter to move onto something more thrilling.
Sadly, just not quite the gripping story I’d hoped for.

A clever little book and great read to pick up. The story is both witty and dark and enjoy the angle the story takes in terms of a POV on the outside of the darker themes of the book. Certainly one I’ll be happy to reread

Following the story of the well to-do Flappy of Bradley-Compton. This was a wonderful side step and preview into the sub characters of the Temptation of Gracie.
This book is both cheeky and charming with a heated romantic affair which I enjoyed. In this we see the emotional development and conflict of Flappy without losing the true essence of her character. I really enjoyed this witty little book and the nods to Gracie from its sister story.
The only reason I couldn’t give it a 5 stars is whilst the story felt well thought out I do wish there was a little more complexity to the tale particularly with some of the newer characters introduced.

An incredibly atmospheric and spellbinding story of love and mystery. It certainly provides a darker academia style of writing which strikes a perfect balance of detailed scenes to immerse deeper into the story without too much “fluffy padding”.
The story line allows for multiple layers of mystique and well planned plot lines to entwine with one another. Certainly earmarked as one of my favourite books.
This story gives the same air of fantasy and wonder similar to that of the The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

Whilst beautifully written in Erin’s writing style to provide an atmospheric view of a written fantasy world, I found that the story struggled to ground itself. This also wasn’t helped by some intrusive chapters from other characters away from the main plot which confuses the storyline. So perhaps a harsher review as I’m a huge fan of Erin’s other work “The night circus”, this just didn’t live up to my high expectations.

A series of well written stories though the first is certainly my favourite. I had picked this up in hope of diversifying from my usual reads and was pleasantly surprised.
I enjoy the depiction of power struggles within the stories and the harrowing narrative of brutality within it.
The only reason I am not ranking higher is simply for the reason that I don’t think I would re-read this or if I did it would only be for the first of the 3 tales.

Couldn’t fault this book at all! Found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions. What I enjoy most about this book is the balance between harder hitting and more personal insights into Adam’s life and the comedic relief throughout. I can certainly see myself re-reading this book in the future and highly recommend.
