Such a great read to finish off the month of August and get into all the mysterious, thriller, and paranormal books for the fall!
*I received this copy from Edelweiss and Harper Collins as a digital ARC for review and the moment I saw the cover, I knew I was going to enjoy it!
You’re following 3 best friends from a rural town, Cottonwood Hollow in Kansas. They have been best friends since forever and despite that fact that they live different lives, they are gifted with unique talents, though some consider it a curse. You’re following them as they discover more about their talent, their lives and their town. They go through hardships along the way but always have each other to fall back on. I really enjoyed the friendship they had and how they handled situations, and even in the darkest times, they were always there for each other. You get the feeling of knowing that you’re not alone and that no matter how bad things may seem, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. The atmosphere and the diversity in this book was so well written and it was such an easy ready to get into. You needed to know how this happened, even though it felt a little predictable to me, I couldn’t put it down.
I absolutely love Jett. His character was my favorite. I did feel like I had a lot of similarities with the way Rome things and acts, so her friendship with Rome is something that felt very real to me. I also really liked how much Rome cared for her friends. She was always wanting to help and be there for them and didn’t let anyone get in her way of that, not even a cute boy.
All in all, I really did enjoy this book and I know so many other readers will enjoy it as well! The Deepest Roots comes out on September 18 and I highly recommend you add this your fall TBR! Miranda Asebedo is a debut author and I think she did a phenomenal job on bringing this story to us!

I enjoyed this story so much that I could not stop thinking about it every time I put it down. I was drawn to it by the cover itself (anything with a cat on the cover calls to me). I don’t want to say to much about it because it being a middle grade, it’s hard to explain my thoughts without spoiling anything. But the moral of the story is you’re following a girl named Cassidy who has a ghost as a best friend and her parents who study ghosts. They end up going to Edinburgh for her parents to film a show about their ghost stories and Cass finds herself in different situations that will have you at the edge of your seat just to see what will happen next.
Schwab’s writing in this story is very captivating and makes you feel like you’re in the story. The ghost references felt so real and my imagination went wild throughout the entire story. I enjoyed Cass and Jacob a lot and I’m so anxious to find out what happens next with them because you finish the story wondering if Jacob is really who you think he is.
If you’re not much of a middle grade reader- I still highly suggest you pick this up! It feels way more than 272 page book and you won’t want to stop reading it!

I really enjoyed this one! I’ve own the physical book for a while and with the release of A Map of Days - the 4th installment of the series- I was tempted even more to pick it up. i decided to try this one on audio and I’m glad I did. The narrator was phenomenal and completely hooked me. The story started off a bit slow but it didn’t feel dragging which what made me want to continue. Their were truly some peculiar things happening and i can only imagine what happens next. I will be continuing the series on audio because I felt in the story more than I thought I would!
Pick this one up if you haven’t yet. If you’re having seconds thoughts-I’d recommend the audiobook. It’s only about 8 hours and it’s a great read if you need some spooky and peculiar vibes!

I can’t not give this 5 stars because I loved it so much and it hit me so hard in the feels. The ending happened too quickly because I thought I had so much more to read.

In all, I absolutely loved this manga so much. If it wasn’t for booktube and bookstagram, id probly have never come across it giving this is my first manga I’ve read so I’m truly grateful to the book community.
I adore the art style, I love the characters and the story was truly so real and raw. I took photos of almost every page because I felt so many emotions and it was just so beautifully written. I highly recommend this manga if you’re looking for one to read for the first time or just if you haven’t yet.
