This book was beautifully written. While reading, you become Alice's friend as she walks on this journey from being a highly, successful and functional professor to a woman desperately trying to hold on to the pieces of her former self. Highly recommend reading this book.
It grew increasingly difficult to read this book and not compare it to "To Kill a Mockingbird" and because of that, this book never really stood a chance with me…this book is more about Scout than Atticus. All of the hype surrounding the novel prior to its release, in my opinion, set the book up for failure with its readers. Maybe one day, I will revisit it…but to those of you who have not read it, do not expect the literary presence of Harper Lee from TKAM. It's hard to find her here...
A page turner just like Gone Girl. A little shocked by the ending, but not surprised by it all.
