It’s been awhile since I’ve started and finished a book in the same day. I won’t spoil this, but being a poor kid and finally getting to a place in life where you put yourself first and allow good things to happen to you is something that really resonated with me while reading this book. I was cheering for Beyah the whole time, and in true Colleen Hoover fashion, definitely wasn’t expecting the plot twist. A great read and win for the underdogs…
I’m so sad about this. I don’t know what it is, but after Beach Read, Henry’s books have fallen flat for me. I do love how her characters center books in their lives and even resonate with that as a fellow book lover, but these stories are fizzling out for me halfway through. I thought with this one, I would resonate more as I learned about Nora’s struggles with grief after the passing of her mother, having felt some of the same complications in my own life, but the overall story just didn’t land with me the way I anticipated given all of the hype.
