Black love is everything…

This book. Such a beautiful display of complicated, messy, tragic, but life changing love. I smiled. I felt sadness, familiarity of grief, nostalgia for the stories and strength of strong, Black women, and finally, a longing for a relationship like Eva and Shane.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I loved these two characters and found this story incredibly charming. This is one of those books with characters who make you smile throughout while being set in one of the greatest cities in the world. I found myself rooting for Franny and Hayes throughout the book and overall pleased with the story. While I wouldn’t recommend this for a curriculum. I would recommend reading this book in general. A quick and fun read for sure! #InaNewYorkMinute #NetGalley

This started out a strong and promising read for me. The author has the same wit as Sally Rooney, which is what drew me into the writing/story. Unfortunately, this fell flat halfway through and never fully recovered, which I hate because I wanted to love this book.
