This was a wild ride. I expected the plot twist with Grant, but did not suspect the plot twist with Perla or Sofie at the end. A good listen for sure. 

What a wild ride of Chuck and Blair nonsense. The back and forth was too much, but the writing was good. Naturally, being the reader that I am, I need to know what happens next even though this story was a lot. 

Also, I knew it was her. 🙄

I was excited to try a new romantasy with BIPOC main characters and a BIPOC author. This book has great promise, especially the first 60% of it, however, the rest of the book fell flat for me. There seemed to be a lot going on and the plot felt lost in the last half of the book. I will say that the banter between Roshan and Suraya was great and overall, they were interesting characters. I don’t really understand the inclusion of the chapters involving Darius and even his connection to Suraya, but I’m guessing this may be answered in the next book if the series…

Overall, an okay read.

I couldn’t put this down. If I didn’t resonate so much with Kristen’s story, Sloane’s story might be my favorite of the two. This felt raw, especially when the added complication of grief and loss is a factor. I enjoyed reading this one and Abby Jimenez is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. 

’s been awhile since I’ve read a YA book and as YA books typically go, this one is an emotional page turner. The writing was incredibly good and despite the subject of grief and the angst of the main characters, it was a good read overall.
