This was a sweet comic with a wholesome ending. I really felt for the main character, and even when she lashed out you could understand where she was coming from. I thought the ghost lore was interesting and fun, I wish we had gotten more of it but I understand that it wasn't the focus of the story. While the main character is essentially a teenager and this suits a teenager or middle grade audience well, as an adult I found the stakes to still be relatable and engaging.

I watched the first couple seasons of the TV series and didn't enjoy it, so I didn't want to take the risk of reading the book and not enjoying it either. A friend of mine has read and watched both, and he suggested if I didn't like the show I probably wouldn't enjoy the book. 

I ordered this from Book of the Month along with my actual monthly selection for a friend who was very interested in reading it. They kept me updated with their progress and it didn't sound like the kind of book I'd enjoy, they had many issues with it that I think I would also dislike. 

I let a friend read this book before I did, and they said it didn't seem like something I would like. 

I enjoyed the first book and I got this one from the library to read next. As I looked at the reviews though, I felt like I might be better off skipping it. It sounds like the characters regress and the story doesn't cover the sort of new territory I was looking for with these characters.

A sweet love story with a lot of fun side characters. Mandira was excellent and I'd love a book from her perspective. This is aimed to a younger audience than myself. The main character is young and naive, but she does mature about important things as the story goes on. 

I can see why this is the most popular Jane Austen book. It's funny, it's dramatic, it sucks you in, and it moves fairly quickly. It's worth reading even though they're are good adaptations that cover the material well. 

Very sweet book! It was my first time reading this author, and I think I'll enjoy reading more. They were able to establish a good sense of the characters and what they meant to each other in a pretty short novella, which is impressive. 

I listened to this on audiobook, but only when my friend was with me so it took a long while to get through. This is not a book where all of the characters are lovable, the flaws were front and center here and people are mostly motivated by wanting knowledge/power. There are some lofty discussions of scientific/philosophical topics which are interesting but can sometimes make the story drag. Not much happens besides the Six studying and interacting with each other, then at the end the plot all rushes forward and just as it's getting exciting the book stops there. Hopefully this is promising for the next book, but it leaves you feeling a bit cheated after spending so much time reading this one.
