I enjoyed the first book and I got this one from the library to read next. As I looked at the reviews though, I felt like I might be better off skipping it. It sounds like the characters regress and the story doesn't cover the sort of new territory I was looking for with these characters.

I think I've been spoiled by so many wonderful queer and progressive rom coms that I just couldn't get past the emphasis on traditional gender roles here. A guy buying pads for a lady is considered a herculean saintly act, for example. I felt like I knew exactly what was going to happen and didn't really like any of the people involved. 

The main character wasn't to my taste and early in the book she casually has sex with a much older married man, which grossed me out. I wasn't much interested after that and gave up about halfway through.
