This book is where I started to feel a little meh about the series. Still love it as a whole and it definitely still has the tension and everything. Something about this book while still great, just didn't do it for me.
Nix in my opinion wasn't as likeable anymore,  same with the other girl ( I forget her name as it's been a while since I re read these books). I know they're supposed to be hardened after Tom's death but still.

This book while I slightly loved it less than the first is still amazing.
I think I'm still just slightly upset about a certain characters death. But I understand why it had to happen. Character development and all that

It's been a while since I've read this series but it's definitely my favorite zombie book. It has the perfect mix of action and emotion that I need in a book like this. The characters are amazing especially Tom. This series as a whole is pretty good but definitely goes downhill for me a little bit after the third book.

While I liked this book, I think the main character is a bit naive which I suppose is the point of her character. The character  were interesting but the story itself was eh.
I originally was going to rate it a 3.5 but the ending kind of irked me. I knew she was going to eat Lee but a part of me hoped the author wouldn't go that route. I knew it was going to happen but my heart still broke because he was definitely the best character in the book.

A really solid mystery book that's written beautifully. I love the setting and the main character going against what's considered normal back then for women. I love the love interest so much in this book and the banter between them. The murder was a little too predictable in my opinion.
I guessed it at the beginning when they made him a little too sweet.
Which I think is probably the only downfall of the book. I enjoyed how on edge the book made me feel though. It's not a perfect book but definitely a great read, can't wait to read more in this series.

Really thought this book was a solid read. However it felt lacking somehow, I'm not sure what exactly though. I think I desired more from some of the characters. Especially with the tone of the book, but I just didn't get that vibe from some of the characters. I did find the Tox interesting but even that felt like it was missing something.
I almost wish Byatt had a villain arc at the end. I could sense she wanted the Tox a part of her or that's how she acted. I sort of wish that maybe she somehow adapted to it and became something else entirely at the end. I feel like it would be more in character for her. I know she's not completely bad but the way she described the Tox and how she felt about herself, it would have made sense. It would also be interesting to see how Hetty would have handled such a thing. I do hope there's another book because I definitely feel like it isn't over. The book never said that Reese tore out her worm and I'm curious to how Hettys dad will take everything and I want to see where Hetty and Resses relationship will go.
I think this was a good read and I look forward to more from this author.
