If I could sum up this book using one word, it would probably be fierce. It is intense. It is aggressively ferocious. It is also powerful and destructive. While at the same time being heartfelt and horrific. I loved it.

This was a short story, but so lovely! I highly enjoyed it! And the writing style is gorgeous! It felt like I was there walking through the forest and canning preserves right along with them. I will definitely be checking out more by this author!

This was a truly original fantasy tale! This book has blood magic, found family, and an intriguing medical mystery at its core. I very much enjoyed this Persian inspired story.
