If you are looking for a heartwarming bookish read than look no further than this novel! There was of course heartbreak too because of WWII, but ultimately it was a story filled with hope!

I can't recommend this book enough! I foresee myself coming back to this book again and again because I think ,depending upon where I'm at in life, I will get something new out of it each time.

Even though I saw who the killer was from the start I still loved this! It was a beautiful homage to the horror genre and just plain fun! Highly recommend!

2.5 stars rounded down because it was a chore to get through the second half. This one was too damn long. And it took me forever to read because I had to take a break. I liked the first half, but I skim read the last few hundred pages. So much could have been cut out. Less can be more and less would have made this better for sure. The plot felt too convoluted. There were aspects I really enjoyed, but this could have been two separate books or some of it could just have been omitted. Also, Hudson's character felt different in this book than in the previous one. I'm curious to see how the series ends though. Maybe the final installment will redeem this series for me.
