I am LIVING for this series. It's so good!

This series is seriously so good.

So, this series was one I highly enjoyed overall, but this last book felt off. It felt a little all over the place. I love where the characters ended up, but the way they arrived there was less than captivating. Also, there was one character death that I am particularly salty about. Aside from that, I would recommend this series if you are craving some girl power fantasy in your life! I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future!

This was a thoroughly engaging coming of age story that was like a glass of champagne for the mind. It did seem to have quite the tonal shift a little over half way through that made it quite profound. However, I wish it could have stayed a mere romp of early 1940's frivolity. On the whole I did enjoy my time with these characters and the mystery of who's daughter Angela is kept me turning the pages. the latter half of the novel felt a little rushed I think owing to the fact that more than half of the book was spent on a few years of the main characters life and then we sort of breeze through the latter half which felt a bit disorienting. I am still a huge fan of Gilbert's writing though and ability to immerse one completely in a story.

This was a super fun horror novel! Be forewarned that it will probably gross you out.

This series is like spooky mind candy.

Another quick frightening fun read!

Cute!(The movies were way better albeit very different from the book).

This story was whimsical and wonderful! I've never read a fairy story like this before. I need the next book!(but, it's selling for almost $100 on Amazon). This series may be unfinished and the sequel may be outrageously priced, but this book could be read as a standalone. If you can find a decently priced copy don't hesitate to pick it up!
