This is such a strong book in verse, revealing the struggles I think a lot of teens face when they go to college for the first time, trying to figure themselves out. A strong addition to all of the diverse YA reads coming out this year, featuring a main character questioning her identity.

A quick read for me; the plot was engaging as were the characters! Stay tuned early next week for my full review. :)

Wow. I've listened to this audiobook twice, but this graphic novel adaptation is breathtaking. And powerful. We already knew the writing was amazing, and the art just complements that.

Giving this 4.5 stars instead of 4!

Honestly? Go read this book instead of American Dirt because it's done so much better. The writing feels more authentic and it just reflects the harsh reality of a lot of kids and teens trying to find a better life.

I never knew about the Edelweiss Pirates, so this was very informative! KR Gaddy takes three different narratives and weaves them together to paint a picture of how they started. The writing is engaging and you can really tell she did her research. Such a fascinating story!

I'm on track to basically re-read this book once a year, apparently. I needed something comforting and sort of quick while I wait for my next audiobook hold to come in! Also, we're just going to pretend to live in this romanticized view of the US re: elections, because it's much better than what happened in reality. I'd choose Ellen Claremont any day.

5th Re-read: In anticipation for the movie (which comes out tomorrow!). This is such a "imagine of the world could actually be this way" kind of book, where the people who do horrible things actually have consequences. You know, what a novel concept.

Anyway! I love McQuiston's writing style. There's just something about the way they write characters and found family and romance in general.

4th Re-read: Apparently I am just going to re-read this about once a year until the end of time. Which is okay with me! I love McQuiston's writing, characters, and these happy queer books. All three of them will forever be comfort reads for me. 100%.
----
3rd Re-read: I love this more and more every time I read it. Plus, it was the perfect distraction for election day.

2020 Re-Read: Listened to the audio version of this for book club and it was just as perfect as I remember! I desperately needed something happy, and this was the perfect thing to fit that. Glad that I picked up the audiobook as well because the narrator was fantastic!

Oh my goodness, this was a book that I just didn't want to put down! McQuiston's debut is funny, romantic, and looks at the political world in a fresh light. I found myself smiling more than once, and the characters in this book just brought the story to life. I now fully understand why everyone was gushing about this book!

Giving this 4.5 out of 5 stars! This is such a powerful novel about injustice, activism, and ultimately, hope. Tracy is steadfast in her journey to free her father, and a lot of corruption in her community comes to light. Two mysteries intersect, and overall, the writing is really well done. There were a few storylines I didn't think needed to be included, but other than that, no complaints here!

A layered mystery all about the unwanted attention men give women and girls of all ages. Caletti keeps you on your toes throughout the whole book, this story unfolding with snippets of a police investigation for each chapter. If you like books like Sadie by Courtney Summers, this is definitely one to pick up!

This adapts so well into a manga! I loved the art, and of course I love Levi and Cath. They're some of my favorites.
