As someone who is not super familiar with the Count of Monte Cristo, this was enjoyable but not standout for me. Lots of secrey and snooping around, and I thought the characters were pretty great! I just wish we could have seen more from Roach. Maybe in the next book!

A mix of memoir and fiction, this is such an important story fit into a middle grade graphic novel. It could definitely be useful in the classroom! More in a review to come later this week.

Essentially, this is a series of journal based prompts that guide you in thinking about white supremacy. It's a lot about self reflection and realizing racist thoughts to work toward being more antiracist. It's definitely a great jumping off point to the antiracist movement!
I wish I would have known there were spoilers in this for the Dark Artifices trilogy before reading it.
A re-imagining of a radio show from the 1940s, this follows the story of the Lee family as they move to Metropolis. While Tommy fits in right away, Roberta watches from the sidelines. When their family is targeted by the Klan, Superman comes to save the day. But he's been struggling with where he came from, too. Would people really accept them if they knew who he really was?
Gene Luen Yang brings something great to everything he creates. This was a fast-paced story that was excellently illustrated, featuring strong diverse characters and an important topic. Definitely a great addition to the many Superman stories that are out there.

Marissa Meyer has effectively raised the stakes for the last book in this trilogy! I loved the tension between Adrian and Nova in this. It builds up throughout and they just need to be honest with each other! Can't wait to get to the last book.
While this deals with a lot of important issues and Diana of course is a badass, there was just something that didn't quite click with me. The story didn't necessarily wow me, and neither did the artwork. But this cover is gorgeous! And it's still a great addition to the Wonder Woman canon.
I've had this book forever and I'm finally getting around to reading it! Alexandra Bracken has created such a unique world, and the pacing of the book made me fly right through it. I'm glad I have the next ones in the series, with that ending! I need to know what happens next.
While the first half of the book was slow for me, this definitely picked up in the second half! I wasn't quite sure where the story was going to go, but Teo is fierce and 100% fits with Cielo. I love them together. The magic system is fascinating and I am intrigued to learn more in the second book!

There are a variety of formats throughout the book. There are stories about disabilities, stories about mental health, stories about hair growth and gender identity. Honestly, there's so much that you can find in this book! It's clear that Jensen, as the editor, really worked hard to provide a large array of representation through the stories she chose.
4.5/5 stars
