A twisty YA thriller that will have you on the edge of your seats! Though the twists were a bit predictable for me, the characters were great and I loved the way the author pulled in horror movie tropes and references. More to come in a full review next week!

This might be the most adorable thing I've read this year. I read the entire thing before bed last night and it made me so happy. Especially cuddling next to my own kitty. Anyone who has a pet or just likes cute things will absolutely love this.

While I didn't necessarily have the background going into this, there was enough context given that it didn't matter. There's an overarching story that draws all of the different sections together, and we get to see some familiar friends, like Iron Man, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), and Ms. Marvel. The parts with Miles and Ms. Marvel were probably some of my favorite of the bunch. I love these smaller Marvel graphic novels packaged for middle grade readers. They are a great way to introduce comics, honestly!

Thank you to Sourcebooks Fire and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this to review! I know I say this a lot, but the first thing that caught my eye for this book was the cover. It’s just so visually striking. Makes you interested in reading more for sure!

I thought this was going to be a bit romance heavy, it definitely wasn’t. It's more about Jack and Hallie as individuals, going on this journey to figure out what direction they want to take in life. It’s not your typical romance plot; well, outside of the fact that they’re randomly thrown together and of course have chemistry. There are twists and turns that make the plot exciting and really propel you forward.

Jack and Hallie are really fleshed out characters and I really enjoyed the chemistry they had on the page. However, I do wish some of the side characters were fleshed out a bit more. We get secondhand knowledge about a lot of them, especially Jack’s brother, but not enough to really bring them to life.

There are also a lot of issues dealt with in this book. Which means that some of them are brushed to the side a bit, particularly with Hallie. At the end of the book, we don’t get much of the end of her story, outside of what we get from Jack. I kind of wish we had gotten a chapter or two more from her, just to round out her story.

All in all, this was a fun road trip kind of book, filled with plenty of shenanigans and adventures. If you want a not-so-typical romance book, this one is definitely for you!

This is the only Casey McQuiston book that I've only read once, so I figured it was about time for a re-read. I think the thing that keeps bringing me back to their books is the fact that every time I read one, I just want to be friends with all of the characters they create. This book makes me want to move to a big city and find a group of friends like August does. McQuiston honestly nails the characters every time.

Does the time travel 100% make sense in this? No, but I honestly didn't really care that much. I'm here for the characters and the characters only. Anything else is just a bonus.

Obviously, anything by Casey McQuiston goes on my automatic buy list, in case you didn’t know that from the way I rave about Red, White, & Royal Blue. This one definitely lives up to the hype!

McQuiston’s formula is to put a bunch of swoon worthy characters into an impossible situation that they have to figure out how to overcome. And it absolutely works! From the moment you meet August, you know you’ll be rooting for her in the rest of the book. Plus, there are tons of side characters that you instantly like as well. August finds her own little found family in New York, and they are all there for each other. It’s a found family you wish you could be a part of.

And the romance! We know from Red, White, & Royal Blue that McQuiston is great at writing romance. I’d almost argue that it gets even better in this book, if that’s possible! Like August, we instantly fall in love with Jane, and we’re rooting for her and August to figure out the time-jump thing and be together. I can’t say enough about the characters; I just love them so much.

While the bones of the plot are maybe a bit predictable, the little details are really what make August and Jane’s love story pop. The mechanics behind everything make this feel like a fresh love story, and combined with the characters (did I mention how much I love the characters), this is sure to be an instant favorite for a lot of readers.

All in all, this book is coming out just in time for summer romance flings, if your fling is reading swoony romance books for the summer. Plus, it’s coming out just in time for pride! From the characters to the setting to the plot, One Last Stop will satisfy fans of McQuiston’s blockbuster debut.

Ah this was just perfect. I loved it. August's found family in New York is perfect and August and Jane are adorable. Stay tuned for a full review sometime soon!

We repeat the same sort of plot structure with 3/4 of the book being really slow and all the action basically happening in the last 1/4. But that last quarter is what gets you to read the rest of the books because now I have to know what happens next! The characters are also what make this book interesting, even when there isn't much going on plot wise. Ready to see what happens next!

This is one of those books that borderline between young adult and new adult, and I definitely think it skews toward the older side. It's also a very heavy book, that deals with a lot of difficult topics, like cancer, eating disorders, anxiety, and immigration/racism. However, Choi is an extremely talented writer, hitting these issues on the head while centered around a lot of family drama.

Overall, the voice was really strong and while Jayne can be frustrating at times, it makes sense for what she's going through. Her relationship with June might be dysfunctional at times, but in the end, they really have each other's backs. Another strong showing from Mary H.K. Choi.

Let's start with Sky. What isn't to like about him? He struggles a lot with his image, being from small town Michigan. He doesn't want to appear too gay. But he's surrounded by some of the best friends and people. Seriously. Couch does such a great job with characterization in this entire book. Outside of Sky, there are tons of secondary characters that are well fleshed out and great characters all around. I love them all!

And the emotions! Happiness, sadness, anger; there's everything in this book. Couch truly takes us on an emotional journey right along with Sky. Honestly, I did not want to put this book down. Sky pulled me from the beginning and I just wanted the best for him. This is one of those books that I think I want to have on my shelf because it just makes you feel good. Plus that cover! It just looks amazing.

I don't think there's anything bad to say about this book. Maybe the writing isn't always up to par, but the emotions and the characters definitely balance that out.

Couch's debut is definitely one you'll want to read over and over again. 

While I don't know much about the Civil War II plotline, I think it brings up a lot of important conversations, especially about profiling. I'd say Kamala's storyline is similar to Spider-Man in Civil War I, in that he starts on a certain path and realizes that maybe it's wrong. Definitely gives readers a lot to think about, and I just love Kamala anyway. Plus, G. Willow Wilson's writing is pretty fantastic.

To start, the art in this was absolutely gorgeous. I loved the way different colors are used to represent Victor and Nora. Overall, I wanted a little more from the characters and the story. And the ending! So heartbreaking. A great, quick read.
