Perfectly creepy and un-put-downable, but that ending! I just wanted a bit more from the ending. More to come in a review next week!

The writing style also felt odd. It was hard for me to tell how much time was actually passing. At times, it felt like too much time? I don't even know how to explain it. All around, this book was just a miss.

TJ Klune does it again! All the feels with this book. More to come in a review later this week!

What I liked about this one were the many discussions about how society views Black girls and Black women. The metaphor with these magical abilities and Naema tackles these issues head on. I also liked how this built on the world we got in A Song Below Water, expanding it and giving us more characters and more interaction with society in general. Overall, a really great read!
