Not a bad collection of Spider-Man comics! We get some classic villains that come back, things are starting to take off between Peter and MJ. I'll admit, the whole clone storyline seemed a bit out of place, but I enjoyed the other issues included. Of course, Harry comes back, so trouble is only brewing for the future of Spider-Man.

This graphic novel so accurately captures what it feels like to be in middle school. Changing friend groups, changing interests, the struggle trying to figure out where you fit. As someone who also struggled with severe acne (even if it was in high school), I found Jay's struggles so relatable. Especially when nothing you do works, even when it feels like it's working for everyone else.

The focus on figuring out sexuality is also a major component of this book, specifically Jay realizing that he probably identifies somewhere on the asexual spectrum. I don't think I can think of any graphic novels that actually portray this, so it's amazing. I didn't even learn about asexuality until I was in college, so let's make it mainstream please!! The whole sequence about middle school crushes really struck a chord with me.

The art style was pretty good for a middle grade graphic novel, too. It fit the story, and made it easy to read. Definitely glad this story exists!

This was a great culmination of the previous two graphic novels that lead into this story. Raven and Garfield end up meeting in Nashville and not realizing that they're looking for the same person. There are some good action sequences in this one, and Garfield and Raven have good chemistry with each other. It definitely made it fun to read!

I loved the art style in this! It had a kind of watercolor effect, and I love watercolors in graphic novels. It's one of my favorite things. The story was pretty well done too, giving background to characters that readers might be familiar, they might not be. 

Honestly, I love this line of DC YA graphic novels for that. I think it's a good way to get teens and kids into comics and a clearer way. Because let's be honest, getting into DC or Marvel comics can be confusing. Overall, this one was a quick read, but definitely entertaining!

Where do I begin with this graphic novel? I loved almost everything about it. Following the story of Manuel, who has witnessed a tragedy at his school and uses photography to cope with it. He makes friends through the assignment of an art project, and they help him heal, too. From the relationships, art, writing, and just general format, there's nothing I didn't like about this book.

The way that PTSD and panic attacks are portrayed in this book are some of the best I've seen done in graphic novel format. For Manuel, all of the color disappears, and you almost feel the panic with him. His relationship with Sebastian was perhaps one of my favorite things in the book because Sebastian really wants to be there for him. There are subtle hints throughout that their friendship is more than a friendship, and if you're not paying close attention, you might miss them. When it's a first relationship like this, in a middle grade novel, I feel like this formatting works so well for the story.

The art! How have I gotten this far and not talked about the art yet? Formatted around the idea of the golden hour for photography, there are just some goregous shots in here. Absolutely gorgeous. I only know Niki Smith from The Deep and Dark Blue, but I feel like this book has built on what I loved about that book.

All in all, this fits the middle grade genre so well. It's one I will keep thinking about and will definitely keep an eye on what Niki Smith does next.

Okay, not as good as volume 11 in my opinion but that was a great ending, nevertheless. If you read the collector's edition, there's a lot of extra stuff in the back of this one, which was kind of fun to see. I like that we see how all of the characters are moving forward with their lives, now that they have the freedom to do so.

I can definitely see why so many people enjoy this manga. It has a lot of great stuff going for it! You'll fall in love with the characters and be rooting for them from the very beginning.

Okay, this might be my favorite volume yet. Not only do we get resolution from the curse in this book, but there are so many emotional moments. Both sad and happy. And the ending of this one is so satisfying. Can't wait to see what the final volume brings!

Wow, that one ends on an emotional cliffhanger! We're nearing the end of the series and I can only hope that it ends on a happy note. I mean, at this point, we dserve it, right? The Sohma family deserves to be happy. Will hopefully be finishing it sometime tonight or tomorrow!

Oooo we get backstory in this one! Quite a bit of backstory, actually. It's all starting to come together. We see some really dark moments from Akito, maybe even darker than the ones we've seen before. Now, we're desperate for Tohru to save them from the curse because we've grown attached to the Sohma family. They deserve such happiness.

Will I marathon the rest of the series before the end of the year? Probably. I don't have a lot going on after work this week, so we'll see what the week brings!

Ooo this was dark! And full of Japanese mythology. If you're looking for a book that has a morally gray main character who does some questionable things, this is the book for you. Baker does an excellent job creating this world and pulling you in with these characters. The entire book is atmospheric and engaging.

I listened to the audiobook version and the narrator absolutely helped make the story for me. She pulled me into Ren's story and helped with the world building and enchanting nature of the story. With that ending, I can't wait for the second book!
