There is honestly a lot to love about this book, specifically about the way diversity is represented. It's just there, a part of this science fiction world Delliquanti has created. No one bats an eye about any of it, and it's refreshing to see a diverse space world represented in this way. The characters are all fully fleshed out, and I loved to see their evolving relationships throughout the book. It was probably one of my favorite things about the book, honestly.

That, and the art! There are some gorgeous panels throughout, representing this space world and the battles that happen within it. On an art level, there's a lot to love about it, and it really helps in transporting you to this particular world.

My main complaints come from the world builidng itself. While I generally don't mind being dropped in the middle of the story, there were aspects of this world that I wish were made more clear from the beginning. The ending also felt a bit rushed, with not a lot of resolution for the characters or the world. Would I love to see this as, like, comic issues instead? Yes, yes I would. I think it would have helped the story breath a bit more at the end.

All in all, there is a lot to love about this book and I am so glad it exists! And I would definitely read something else that Delliquanti writes, for sure.

This volume switches to follow Hiragi's band, and while not my favorite, it was good to see how the other relationships have been progressing. But that's how this volume is going to end? Now I have to desperately wait to find a copy of the next one. Which I don't think is out in English yet, but I need it!

The best thing about this series is probably the characters. They're just all kind of flailing, trying to figure out the direction that they want to go in life. We finally get a couple in this one that I think everyone has honestly been waiting for. It definitely ended on a sweet note!

If you're a fan of Gayle Forman, chances are you'll also love this book. Also if you love marching band, because there's so much marching band in this book. That aspect definitely brought me back to high school, because some of my favorite memories came from band. And some of my best friends.

But I digress! Schumacher did a greta job writing the characters and there are some beautifully lyrical moments in this book. I appreciated the evolving relationship between Anna and Weston, even if the trajectory is a bit predictable. I'm also not a huge fan of the instant love trope, and that's a little of what we get between them. Makes sense for teenage relationships though, 100%.

All in all, if you love sweet love stories that will likely make you cry, you'll definitely want to pick this one up!

Oof this one definitely gets emotional. Again, we get to see more of the relationships develop between the other band members, which really rounds out the story for me. The music takes a little bit of a backseat in this particular volume, and I'm honestly okay with that. It helps to add more depth to the characters overall.

This volume was a good blend of emotional and lighthearted scenes. We get some of the goings on with the other band members, fleshing them out a bit more. And more drama! Also if you want something that screams boy band but also gay, this is definitely the manga for you.

The second half of this particular volume is more engaging than the first, mostly because we get the return of the Green Goblin, one of Spider-Man's better villains. Plus, there's a little twist with that villain. Granted, it's one you can probably see coming, but it still makes for fun reading. 

It's interesting reading these earlier comics all at once, because you can definitely see trends and see how they're evolving a bit. It's great getting this background of Spider-Man as well.

Well that got emotional real fast. Mafuyu's past is heartbreaking, and the way he sings his emotions at the end. Oh man. Uenoyama figuring out his feelings for him balances out the sadness and loneliness, though. It's so pure. I just love reading about these characters; they are sweet and lovely and I would love to be their friend. 

This is a beautiful novel in verse about two trans boys finding each other, finding themselves, and finding love. Stay tuned for a full review to come!

Are we fans of slightly chaotic groups of friends? Yes, yes we are. Especially if we make it gay. Right from the beginning, the characters in this are easy to like, and while parts of it are light-hearted, there's a tone of more emotion underneath. Of course we get some drama in this slice of life, but it also didn't seem like it was too over the top. 

The art really helps in bringing the characters to life as well. The budding relationship between Ritsuka and Mafuyu is heartfelt and emotional at its core, and I am here for it. Honestly can't wait to read more about these characters and 100% prepared for it to get emotional.
